Am i burned-out?
This time of year can be very stressful on our mind and body it might be worth you noting these symptoms of burnout. We often neglect ourselves when it comes to menatl fatigue and symptoms. If your legs was tired you would take a rest or speak to a professional.
Why do we not when our mind is feeling it too?
The relief you can feel by just telling your family and friends that you are facing "burn out" and moving some of your work load to give yourself a break will feel like a huge weight has been lifted.
It is okay to take a break and have some time out our body is a great tool in telling us when we need to slow down or even just stop for a little while to recharge.
It is okay to put ourselves first and not to feel guilty as only once we help ourselves can we help others.

Take on Mental Health
"The greatest gifts available to us is our mind, our ability to learn and integrate that into our lives."
The holistic approach to mental health is one which I champion. Treating the whole person, focusing on wellness not just illness or symptoms is how we learn not just to survive but thrive...
Therapy is a way for many to form a deeper connection outside of their network . Learning about self, especially at times of distress often feels vulnerable and counter intuitive . This takes great courage , but reaps rewards though new awareness , being truly heard , realising strengths and working creatively to form a new way that is authentic and sustainable.
Negating the stigma surrounding psychological and emotional distress is an ongoing journey.
Medicine , social support, psycho- education and psychological therapies all play a part, but working together are stronger. I am privileged and humbled to have connected with many , being alongside them as they have change is a virtuous circle for, I too learn in the process .
Its okay to ask for help. We are here to help and most of all to listen!

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. Su***de can be prevented in various ways; if you think someone may be suicidal: Ask, listen and encourage the individual to seek help.

Around 30% of people with Primary insomnia will improve with basic sleep hygiene alone. However, if insomnia persists, the recommended treatment is based on a combination of cognitive and behavioural strategies referred to as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). The aim of CBT-I is to identify and change problem thoughts and behaviours that maintain the disorder.
CBT-I has been shown to be an effective treatment for Insomnia. At the Oaktree Clinic we offer a *session group CBT-I programme. Treating insomnia in a group setting is an affordable, viable treatment alternative to individual CBT.
