Hattie π
Introducing our newest member to the clan, Hattie ππ
We've been waiting to introduce Hattie to you all as we had an unfortunate time just after she arrived. We sourced Hattie with her young ram lamb, who we named Hugo. After a short while of them being in their new home, we noticed Hugo wasn't doing very well and intervened. Sadly, even with vet involvement, Hugo didn't make it, leaving us with an understandably distressed ewe on new turf π
We quickly moved her with Cooper and Poppy to distract her and we're happy to say Cooper took her under his wing immediately, literally not letting her leave his side! Since then, she has settled in well and is well and truly part of the gang.
Although this is very sad news to be sharing on our socials, we know that we did everything we could to help him whilst he was with us, and that this is unfortunately part of farming, nature often has its own plans.
Now comfortably enjoying life at SFE, welcome Hattie! Perhaps we should start calling the sheep "The Misfits"....what do you think? π€
Update: beautiful Betty is back home safe, thank you for those sharing and looking for her ππ
Hoping we can help find Betty! Has anyone seen her?

Introducing Sheila, our charming new Polish hen, bringing a touch of feathered elegance (and plenty of sass!) to Shore Farm Estate π Welcome to the flock, Sheila! π
A big thank you to all the neighbours who donated their Christmas tree to us this year; everyone has enjoyed having a good nibble π²
If any neighbours are looking to dispose of their real Christmas tree, providing it hasn't been sprayed with any chemicals, our goats will gladly munch on them! π
πβ¨ Seasons Greetings from us at Shore Farm Estate ππ
As we say goodbye to 2023 and hope that Santa brings us something nice, we wanted to take a moment to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our neighbours and followers. We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, festive period.
Let's 'av ya, 2024! π₯π»
A few months ago, we found a hedgehog out and about during the daytime; never a good sign.
We were able to catch her and take to a local rescue for some TLC. Turns out she was very young and underweight, and probably should've still been with her mum.
With some medication, food and plenty of rest, we have been able to successfully bring her back to the farm for her to start her hibernation. We prepared a box for her first night with some food and plenty of bedding in case she needed it, but she amazed us by leaving it all behind to find her old nest.
If you ever see a hedgehog out during the day, please contact a local rescue for advice as they really need our help with the changing weather. Recently a lot of their nests have been damaged by excess rain, forcing them out for food.
We're so happy to have been able to help this little one out and hope she thrives after her stay at rehab! π¦
Did someone say treats? π
Just a couple of floofs ππ
We have a resident squirrel in the woods at SFE. We've named him Trev and he's wonderfully cheeky! Here's Rascal just keeping an eye on him ππΏοΈ
