It has finally stopped raining.

Welcome to the sunshine Harold, our latest c**t out of the lovely Peanut.

Harold is very special to us as he is 4th generation of our breeding on the dams side - we still have his great grandma.

Amid all the dejection in Plaited Pony Breeding and Showing there are still those of us who are really quietly doing our own thing and in Churchills words just " keeping buggering on".

Harold will join his brothers Marcosie The Spectre (Harvey) and Marcosie The Spirit (Henry) in the show ring next season.

OFF TO HOYS

Well it only took 1 more week. Three Shows, Three Championships and a Price Family HOYS Ticket at Midland Counties

The Special Child is now on the bus to HOYS with Team Charlesworth.

The photo just sums up the day for us, the sheer special delight of a team effort, and to crown it all off a member of the Price Family there to award the qualification. The first two shows of the season Notts County, and Devon County, and two championships.

Well when your mum was Cuddy Supreme Champion at HOYS you where always going to be a bit special, but Zara is proving to be more than a bit special.

THE SHOWING JOURNAL
I finally managed to sit down with my copy of The Showing Journal, and up popped an article about the Art of In Hand Showing,
And there was my Crafton Blithe Spirit looking fabulous both on the front cover and heading up the article.
Time flies, HOYS 2018 - Cuddy Supreme In Hand Champion. Spirit has now three daughters and a son and all have won in-hand Championships at County Level as Part Bred Arabs, Part Bred Welsh and BRP's.
Spirit has now fully retired and her babies are working through the In-Hand classes ( an absolutely priceless education) and starting to work as ridden ponies and brood mares.

Another Marcosie pony moves off into the big world to join Bev and Jason Hobbs and their show team.
Maeve has all the potential in the World with mum a HOYS Cuddy Pony In Hand Champion and dad getting a creditable 5th at HOYS in The Price Family In Hand Championship on his first outing indoors as a stallion.
This a filly to watch next season as she struts her stuff in the ring.

A lovely yearling filly to make 13:2, bay no white. Just had a long lazy summer out at grass with a couple of our 13:2 broodies and all ready to come in.

ROYAL LANCASHIRE SHOW

What a great day for Spider and Team Charlesworth.

For the second year running we where Part-Bred Welsh Champions, this time with Marcosie The Fourth Dimension – thank you Alan for taking the helm at short notice.

And then onto the Riding Ponies with Simon back at the helm, and we became Riding Pony Champion with Marcosie The Fourth Dimension, again.

Plus a massive thank you for the behind the scenes efforts of Henry, who held us all together.

And finally we were on the TELLY again tonight and the Radio this morning.

Can’t wait for Sunday and the Price Family HOYS Qualifier.😁

Ahead of the Royal Lancashire Show (Friday - Sunday) we have been visited by the wonderful Judy Hobson and the lovely Rob on camera.

For the very first time a Part-Bred Arab has achieved the accolade of being on the FRONT COVER of the Arab Horse Society News.

Having this season been Champion PBA at Notts County Show, Derbyshire Festival, Cheshire County Show and Devon County Show, under 4 different Judges, and Reserve Supreme in The Price Family In-Hand Qualifier at Derbyshire Festival, we believe he has earned his accolade.

Spider, we believe, represents all those Part-Bred Arab breeders who compete at the very top level year after year quietly representing the Arab Horse and its derivatives to the wider showing world.

We are very proud.

MARCOSIE THE TOUCH OF MIDAS

Really, Really, Really didn’t think that we would get this far. Our little Midas, started out with joint ill which went from joint to tendon – 2 weeks at Leehurst Vet Hospital. Then lost his mum at 4 weeks and moved onto the bottle and then the bucket. And finally he gets time outside with his uncle Rex who is showing him how to be a pony, and roll in shight!

11 weeks in, x rays say no damage to the joint or tendon.

Invoices to keep the little guy going, so far, has exceeded £10,000. So the next time when you try to knock a breeder down on the value of their work just try to remember the costs that you will never see.

The boy is dancing in the sun – worth every penny.

WELL THE PRICE WAS NOT QUITE RIGHT – WELL NOT FOR US!

Spider was Reserve Champion to DPUK Night Dancer in the Price Family Supreme Qualifier at Derbyshire Festival – congratulations to all her connections and good luck at HOYS.

Spider could have not have looked any better, or gone any better in the Supreme, we are very proud breeders.

His journey from Supreme Champion at The British National Foal of the Year Show, through to County Show Championships as a Part-Bred Arab, Part-Bred Welsh and BRP, and twice Reserve Supreme Champion in the Cuddy / Price Family qualifier, is awesome. We keep going.

His has three foals this year, two sons (Ex Crafton Touch of Gold & Marcosie Sweet Rose) and one daughter (Ex Kellythorpes Strike A Pose), they are an absolute credit to him, and proof that he breeds on at the very highest level.

Sonata having been with us for 6 years, and having left us with an outstanding son in MARCOSIE THE FOURTH DIMENSION, has left for fresh pastures with Helen Cartmail and family.

We are very lucky to keep finding lovely homes for our ponies and we are delighted that Sonata is off to pursue fresh adventures.

We are on our way to HOYS for THE PRICE FAMILY SUPREME IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP HOYS with a SECOND pony.

Qualifying on home turf is always a bit special, so thanks to the magnificent ROYAL LANCASHIRE SHOW for holding a qualifier, with 13 forward, including previous qualifiers.

Another one for our studs future, CHORUS GIRL is destined to go straight to our broodmare band and be another wife for MARCOSIE THE FOURTH DIMENSION.

One of our Boys For The Future has gone to his fantastic new home.

The very lovely mother and daughter team of Claire Gleave and Vivien Foster have taken on our boy so that they can have a massive future together.

We couldn’t be more pleased, another FANTASTIC pony has got another FANTASTIC home – as a breeder we can’t wish for more.

When dads one of the leading sires of his generation and mums a HOYS Cuddy Supreme Champion in-hand and a Royal International Horse Show Champion under saddle – what do you really expect.

Our little Zeta, despite being a hairy monster, is an absolute star.

We have only bred one foal this year, thank goodness it’s a grey filly and a Special One.
