Year 6 Parents - High School transition days are taking place this week.

Let's hope the weather gets better for the Yr 6 Summer Fair tomorrow! Games and activities start at 20p and include face painting, lucky dip, Whack-a-mole and soak the teacher. Children can bring money into school to take part during the day.

Today is the day! The sun is shining, the children are ready to give 100% and the there have already been a few competitive arguments amongst the teachers!

We still have tickets available, you can pay on the gate - 50p per ticket.

The front gates to the playground will open at 1.45pm and the event starts prompt at 2pm.

The ice cream van is booked so all Junior School children will have an ice cream after their dance. Parents can purchase items should they wish.

Year 6 Parents - these are the dates that Blackburn High Schools will be welcoming their new Year 7 pupils for transition days. These days will help your child build confidence, make new friends, and get prepared for the big step to High School.

Practice sessions have already started for our anticpated Dance Festival which is taking place on 21st June at 2pm. This is one of our favourite events of the year and is alway well attended. Family and friends are invited to watch as the classes compete to win the prestigious Shad Dance Festival trophy 🎉📣🏆🎼💃🕺

Household Support Fund extension – applications now open.

Applications are now open for the extension of the Household Support Fund in Blackburn with Darwen.

The scheme has been extended and funded by the Department for Work and Pensions until September to carry on helping people with the rising cost of living.

The Council has delivered the HSF since October 2021 in partnership with voluntary, community and faith sector partner organisations who are working together to get the vital support to those who need it most.

There’s help for fuel payments, food parcels, boiler servicing, home insulation and items such as fridges and cookers that may need replacing.

You can apply if you live in Blackburn or Darwen and even if you are in full or part time work – and you don’t have to be claiming benefits.
