Another fabulous addition to the Pride Committee, please welcome Jaide Foster-Howarth 🏳️🌈
I have been part of the LGBTQAI+ community for over 30 years, both on a personal and professional basis. Performing in drag as Zanadu Minnelli for 29 yrs.
As a proud trans woman, I volunteer for local LGBTQ support groups, talk to schools about trans issues, and I put together the 1st Trans community float for Pride 2023. I was nominated for a National Diversity Award, and I was a finalist in 2022 and nominated again in 2023 for my work with the local trans community.
Im looking forward to getting involved with Blackpool Pride and working with all the diverse groups in our fabulous town.
Happy International Le***an day! 👩❤️💋👩

Today we would like to introduce another new committee member, Phillip Charles. Welcome to the team!
I'm so excited about joining the pride committee for a number of reasons. Firstly to volunteer alongside some of Blackpool's most well respected people who tirlessly work to bring pride to life whilst also having a job, family and other commitments, is a huge honor. Secondly because im totally focused on the fact that Blackpool Pride can and will thrive, with such a good team on board. And lastly to empower people to be who they want to be and offer support to many people who still suffer from stigma. Many people dont see the work behind the scenes that is done, and done with total love for the community not to make a name for oneself.
Exciting times ahead have

Over the next few days, we will be introducing some of our newest committee members as we embark on our exciting new journey of planning Pride 2024 🏳️🌈
First up, please welcome Shaun...
I’m Shaun and I am proud to be able to join Blackpool Pride Committee for 2024.
I grew up in a time and place when being gay was something that should be kept a secret, and nothing to be proud of.
I came to Blackpool in 1999 and discovered the wonderful Blackpool LGBTQ+ community. I remember walking through the doors of the old Handbag and feeling for the first time that I belonged - those first tentative steps into the community helped me to realise that there is a world in which I can be out, loud, and proud! I met my partner of 12 years (though we’ve known each other a lot longer) in the new Flying Handbag and have met, loved, and lost some amazing friends along the way.
I trained in Stage Management and Technical theatre and worked in various venues across Blackpool and the Fylde coast before, in 2013, I joined the senior leadership team at the iconic Blackpool Grand Theatre; helping to ensure that the Grand continues to thrive for the future.
Blackpool and its LGBTQ+ community has a special place in my heart, and I am really excited that I have been given the opportunity to use my skills and experience to give something back to our community and help Blackpool Pride grow into a fantastic festival for all to enjoy.
