🔒 Jail and Bail Fundraiser 🔒
Kind-hearted colleagues at Laurel Bank Care Home in Lancaster are gearing up for their Jail and Bail fundraiser tomorrow, 30th October, to support St John's Hospice - a wonderful local charity close to their hearts.
Although the event hasn’t started yet, the dedicated team has already raised the £999 bail needed to release their General Manager, Lyndsay Scott, from her “cell” at Lancaster Castle.
Residents and staff at Laurel Bank are incredibly grateful for the support, which will help St John’s Hospice provide 11 home visits, 5 palliative night-sitting sessions or 50 hours of nursing care on their wards.
Ahead of the event, Lyndsay Scott shared, “I am so proud of my brilliant team, they always go above and beyond and they have the kindest hearts. Collectively we have raised over £2,000 for St John’s Hospice this year, a really fantastic amount and we’re very much hoping to get to £3,000 with our latest endeavour! I can’t say I’m particularly looking forward to spending time in a prison cell but it is all for a very good cause so it will be worth it.”

🤵👰 || WEDDING DAY MAGIC || 👰🤵
Today was a truly touching day at Glenroyd as our beloved resident, Jean, experienced the joy of watching her granddaughter Amy's wedding live on TV. Although Jean couldn't physically be at the ceremony, we were determined to make this moment as special as possible. Surrounded by her friends, Jean was able to share in the love and celebration from afar.
Our team worked hard to recreate the wedding atmosphere in the lounge. From the colour scheme to the carefully prepared buffet, every detail was designed to reflect the beauty of Amy and Dave's big day. Our talented catering team prepared a menu that matched the wedding feast, earning compliments from everyone present.
Jean's family added their own personal touch, including a beautifully crafted buttonhole and a personalised wedding place card, making Jean feel even closer to the event. She was emotional and overjoyed watching Amy and Dave exchange vows. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with smiles and celebration.
We are so proud to have been part of this precious moment and wish Amy and Dave all the love and happiness on their new journey together. May their lives be filled with as much joy and love as they brought to all of us today.
Let's continue to cherish these beautiful moments together.💍👰🤵🖤

🚗 || GEOFF’S WISH GRANTED || 🚗
Today was an extraordinary day for Geoff, one of our cherished residents. A former mechanic and business owner, Geoff has always had a passion for cars, especially Fords - his beloved Cortinas - and his dream of owning a Jaguar finally came true in 2009 with a stunning Jaguar X-Type!
During our Resident of the Day discussion in June, Geoff shared his wish to see a classic car exhibition. We jumped into action and arranged a delightful outing to a classic car show at Stanley Park today. Despite the rainy weather, Geoff, along with his lovely wife Janet, daughter Debbie, and friends, had a fantastic time soaking in the beauty of these classic vehicles.
After the show, they all enjoyed a delicious McDonald's lunch back at Glenroyd, where Geoff savoured his cheeseburger surrounded by the people he loves most.
We are so grateful for the joy this outing brought to Geoff and his family, creating precious memories outside of our care home. A heartfelt thank you to Jason for supporting our activities team in making these wishes a reality!
Here's to more dreams coming true! 🖤
