From November 17, Blackpool’s seafront will turn into a fun-filled festive village with a free-to-use skating rink as part of Christmas By The Sea.
The rink will be open daily (barring Christmas Day) until 1 January.

CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA - OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

After all the buzz on social media, we are thrilled to officially confirm that Christmas By The Sea will return for the third year running on Friday 17 November, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before!

The Star Flyer, one of Europe’s tallest swing rides, is set to return, as well as exciting new thrill rides, including a 100ft-long snow slide.

Expect:
⛸️ Free skating rink (open daily)
💡 Dazzling light installations
🗼 Projection shows
❄️ Artificial snowfalls
🚋 Festive tram rides
🎡 Festive fairground rides - including new Snow Slide!

Lights out for Blackpool Illuminations 💡

Tonight, the Illuminations were switched off for the final time this season. Thank you to all visitors and residents who visited the dazzling display over the past couple of months. It has been a magical season and we were delighted to see so many of you enjoy and explore the Lights in the car, on the tram or on foot.

A big thank you to all our new and returning sponsors, as well as generous donations from the public which all help to keep the spectacular free show shining for years to come.

BLACKPOOL’S FAMILY FIREWORKS CANCELLED 🎆

We have been advised that due to a forecast of strong blustery winds across the seafront, the planned New Year’s Eve family fireworks event on the Tower Festival Headland won’t be able to go ahead later today on safety grounds.

We are really sorry that we can’t celebrate the start of a new year in the way we had hoped. We would appreciate if this announcement can be spread far and wide to get the word out there for those who intended to travel to the event.

The Christmas By The Sea village on the headland, which includes free skating rink, artificial snowfalls, light projection shows, light installations, the giant Star Flyer ride as well as log cabins serving food and drink, will still be open tonight.

The Christmas village will remain in place until Monday 3 January as part of an extended Blackpool Illuminations season.

🎢 Blackpool Pleasure Beach will have a Christmas Grotto, Aladdin The Pantomime as well as a Christmas Gatsby Dinner Show

🎵 The Blackpool Grand will have their annual panto - Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (3rd Dec - 2nd Jan)

🎭 Blackpool Opera House will play host to the feel-good West End Musical Hairspray (13th Dec - 2nd Jan)
