The Veggie patch 🥕 and herb garden 🌱 have had a make over, there is everything you need for a kitchen garden.

Rose Cottage is a Grade II listed building and dates back prior to the 1500's with it first being recorded on a map in 1606. It is the oldest building in Middleton on Sea and is recorded as such on Wikipedia.

The property was fully restored between 2006-2008 using specialist craftsmen and traditional methods and won a Conservation Award in 2008. Structurally the building is original with the wet room and toilet an addition in the 19th century. The roof was replaced back to the traditional style of the period with the Hazel Lattices.
Inside the cottage you will see viewing panels in the double bedroom which shows the original "Wattle and Daub" which is made of small sticks woven together and then bound using cow dung, lime and horse hair.
The garden has also been carefully landscaped to use original English plants and shrubs of the era and display colour all year round.
Rose Cottage was originally a farm house for the workers at Middleton Manor and has a long history of many people living here, on the 1871 census it is recorded that a farm worker and his family of 9 lived here!
