ded in 2009, they have taken part in many exciting events, club nights, fairs, festivals and trade shows including The Clothes Show Live 2011, LGN Fashion Show London 2011, Be the Source Battle of the Bands Competition (recorded live for Sky TV). Munkispanner has also organised many of their own exciting events from non-profit creative projects, charity fashion shows, vintage fairs to Northern Soul club nights. In 2010 Munkispanner created a new project called Munkispanner Presents Xpose Yourself . Xpose Yourself was a non-profit project aimed at getting up and coming new creative talent exposure and experience. Munkispanner hosted these exciting events where creative’s of all kinds can showcase their work, be it art, music, performance, photography, film making, dance, beauty and last but not least fashion! In 2011 Munkispanner ventured in to the world of vintage fairs. Munkispanner and Otis Vintage joined forces and organised a monthly vintage fair called 1000 Volts of Vintage, in the heart of the trendiest and coolest part of Manchester; the Northern Quarter. 1000 Volts of Vintage sold everything from vintage clothing, accessories, jewellery, home ware and records, vintage inspired clothing, jewellery and cupcakes. Each month there were an array of DJ’s playing original vinyl records, acoustic artists and fashion shows to entertain the customers. In 2012 Munkispanner relocated to Stoke-on-Trent to help turn a pub into a live music venue. Here they organised their own Northern Soul all-dayer bringing in top name DJ’s in the Northern Soul scene, whilst Munkispanner’s founder ClassyB (Caroline) was the resident DJ playing Northern Soul, 60’s R&B, Mod Sounds and Ska.
2013 has started with a bang for Munkispanner, relocating back to Manchester and joining Manchester's Drop Productions and together working on an event called Nuff Vibes. Nuff Vibes is an all day festival style event, including the Nuff Vibes pop up cafe, daytime markets, Dave Ruff's record well-fair, DJ's, cup cakes, cabaret acts, fire girls, live art, followed by home-grown local bands and the drop DJ's throughout the day and till the early hours all powered by Drop Productions Sound System. Munkispanner is running the daytime fairs, with their brand new fair Manchester Makers Market (strictly handmade products) and the bringing back their 1000 Volts of Vintage fair. Both Munkispanner DJ's ClassyB and Long Jon are also on the Drop DJ rota for the event. There is still a lot in the pipeline for this exciting and upcoming brand, including organizing the wardrobe for a British film and collaborating with various bands and performers. Munkispanner is looking forward to what this year has to bring. PUBLICATIONS/PRESS:
