Time for change

Well what a week, machines finally out after a little error with the winch(new rope required) thanks to Jas P Wilson for speedy shipment of rope 👍 forwarder pulled out easerly, digger was a different matter it was sat on its belly so needed tipping over to get some timber under her then she managed to pull herself out both just need a good clean now and I need a pint.

Some of the works we have been carrying out over the last month or so, and the best goes on. Mulching, harvesting, forwarding, winching and grapple saws is the way we roll. 🌲 🌳

So the week upto date, busy busy, had the pleasure of using Andrew Seddon with his MAN grapplesaw truck this week, made the job so much easier dealing with Ash die back dismantling , large Chestnut dismantle and a storm damaged Ash. If anybody is interested in hiring a grapplesaw truck I can highly recommend him.

New to us week, as many will know we’ve been selling off some of the kit, well here’s one of the reasons why, many thanks to Scott Burton of SB forestry for sorting this Gremo 1050 forwarder for us. Going forward with our forestry contracts this will help us immensely.

Our friends at United Utilities have pulled it out of the bag (or should we say - the ground) yet again, and donated two giant Christmas trees to us here at Derian House for the fourth year running 🤩

The 22ft Sitka Spruce Christmas tree, felled at Stones Bank in Belmont, is standing proudly at the entrance to the hospice grounds ready to welcome visitors and families alike this December thanks to Michael Bullivant and his trusty team ✨

They've also donated an 8ft tree to decorate the front of our Reception area🎄

A huge thanks also to Jason from GEM ARB Services who took time out of his day to lend a hand - and his machinery - to allow us to crane the giant tree into place 💚

Out with the mulcher this morning, turning a brash pile into mulch, thanks for the work Shaun Hatch

Here’s some pictures from the last couple of weeks, out with the mulcher and a few drone photos from a site visit. Loving the new drone.

Out today helping Elmhouse tree services, Andrew Seddon in the hot seat as usual with the Hyundai and Jak 250 shear preparing trees for Andrew Hampson’s valtra and botex crane with a tp 270 chipper make this little clearance job safe and efficient with very little manual handling.

Here at Gem Arb we are looking for timber, if you own woodland we can give you a return on the timber out of it. We can give a management plan for you woods to give you the best return so get in touch to see if we can help
