FOOTBALL BOOT SHOUT OUT FOR THOSE IN NEED PLEASE! Most of Dignity F.C's players are still in the process of seeking asylum in the UK with access to an allowance of only £8.86 a week. Football boots are a luxury but to be able to train and play together on a regular basis is everything.
Look closely and you'll see that one new arrival to the UK was so desperate to play football today that he played barefoot. Other players swapped boots to allow each other a chance to play. Many stood on the sidelines and watched, desperate to have the opportunity to play and connect with others.
No one should ever miss out on playing football because they don't have a pair of boots. If you have any spare boots to donate you can drop them off at the Dignity Centre Bournemouth at 108 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth BH1 1LU during our opening hours of Tuesday-Friday 10:30am-4:30pm
If you can't drop off, please message me, I'd be happy to collect. Many thanks
Tomorrow is International World Day of Peace and the theme for this year is 'Cultivating a Culture of Peace'. Drawing inspiration from UNESCO's foundational belief that “wars begin in the minds of men, so it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.”
Peace, through this perspective, is not an abstract concept; it's a cultural process that must be taught, practiced, and embedded into every level of society.
Cultivating peace involves instilling values of mutual respect from an early age, ensuring these ideals permeate across generations and geographic boundaries. It is through this cultural transmission of peace that we can hope to build a world where conflicts are resolved not through violence but through dialogue and mutual respect.
