S H Restorations
Classic car restoration services on anything from an Austin 7 to a Aston Martin.
All work undertaken inc, servicing, welding, paintwork, full restorations and everything in between
Big milestone for the rolled mk1 Mexico, all straight, new panels all welded on and off the Jig. A few small rust repairs to do and then we’re on to prep and paint.
This has had ever outside panel replaced plus the shell needed substantial straightening. Will soon be better than new.
Always nice chopping an es**rt up to fit bubble arches, now I have the right position it’s time for lots of trimming to make them fit perfectly, then they can be butt welded on for a seamless join
Starting to finally get a bit of colour on the soft dash Range Rover
Final road test done in the 1964 Alfa Romeo, check over next week and will be good to go. Also put some miles on the mk1 es**rt 1300 sport for the owner as he’s not had chance to drive it since we finished it in January. Both cars totally different but both a pleasure to drive
Subaru Impreza track car ready to go. Came in as a rolling shell and my dad’s been doing this on and off in the background as and when he had time. Off to Richard Henry Motorsport now for a geometry set up and mapping then it should be a weapon on the track days
That’s my part on the Triumph Stag almost done, screen to fit and doors to build up and it’s good to go.
Some of the work done this month
Alfa 105 painted, engine and box fitted and all back up and running
MK1 es**rt put into epoxy primer after blasting and all mocked back up ready for welding
Dodge RAM in for a bit of paint work. Only just fit inside the booth
Suzuki Cappuccino bonnet and bumper painted due to fire damage
Been a bit quiet on here lately but only due to being flat out.
Bit of an update from last month
Stag welding complete and now in primer
Alfa welding complete and now in primer
Mk1 Mexico back from blasting, lightly epoxy primed and back on the jig ready to start welding all the exterior panels on
Also done a engine swop on a morris minor
Gearbox strip and check over on the Alfa
Service and carb rebuild on a fiat 500
Painted the Range Rover engine bay
And 4 wheel alignment on a Caterham
That’s the soft dash Range Rover back on its wheels 😎
Don’t you just love good quality repair panels!!!
Looks like I’m making my own then 🙈😂
Triumph stag inner and outer wing repairs supposedly
Soft dash Range Rover chassis starting to take shape
MK1 Mexico dropped off at the blasters today hopefully back next week 🤞
Range Rover soft dash chassis back from the blasters, repaired and painted ready for the rebuild to start tomorrow
Triumph stag now in an epoxy primer so can crack on with repairs to the bodywork
Powder coating picked up today for the Soft Dash Range Rover, hopefully collect the chassis tomorrow and then the chassis re assembly can begin next week
Outside of the Alfa Starting to take shape
Been a bit rubbish on here of late so here’s a quick update on what we’ve been up to.
Late Range Rover soft dash in for a full body and mechanical restoration, currently all welding is done, body removed and all mechanicals stripped and out getting blasted/powdercoated
A new arrival of a Triumph stag the customer has bare metalled, needs a bit of welding but not much then a full re paint
Alfa Stepnose, in for new floors, sills, wing repairs and a new inner and outer front panel, new wiring loom and mechanical overhaul. Currently 99% of welding done
Mk2 es**rt rally car, back on with the dry build as of next week
Mk1 es**rt Mexico in for a full body restoration after being rolled. Every exterior panel being replaced now the shell has been straightened on the jig.
And Luke’s RS Turbo has left the building.
I’ll make an effort to keep updating on jobs better going forward 🤞
Nice to have the Mercedes Pagoda back in today after being finished a year ago. A little check over and a new battery
Luke’s RS Turbo almost ready for collection, just the stripes to fit now and it’s good to go
Really is nice to see Luke’s Series 1 RS Turbo painted 😎 I actually thought this day would never come when this first arrived 😂
That’s my part of Jason’s RS Turbo done, now to get Luke’s painted
Almost ready for Jason’s Series 1 RS Turbo to leave me, just stripes to get fit tomorrow and that’s my bit all done and dusted. I’ll take some exterior pics next week when it’s down on the ground.
Finally got Luke’s Series 1 RS Turbo into final primer. Taken some doing to get this one right but finally see the light at the end of the tunnel
Luke’s RS turbo all sanded and ready for final prime on Monday then hopefully some colour by the end of the week. Body kit getting primed today so turned a big corner on this one
Had this really nice BMW 318is in for few little jobs
Nice to see Jason’s RS Turbo going back together
As one RS Turbo is almost ready to start the re assembly the other is ready to start being flatted ready for paint. All going to be a bit diamond white in work soon 😎
Bit more of Jason’s series 1 RS Turbo done this week. Flat, poliish and start the re assembly next week
So having a bit of a change of direction with what work I do, after current work that’s already booked in I will only be taking on one full restoration at a time and will be mainly concentrating on body and paint.
So basically you drop your rusty shell off with me and I’ll give you a painted shell back ready for you to re assemble.
Please get in touch to discuss anything with me and please share far and wide 👍
Thanks Steve
