That’s where I’ve been this week, and I was lucky enough to play a game with the two times Ark Nova world champion Andrew Law (pictured on the right)! He was very inspiring and gave me some great advice.

Thanks to the Sabre Explorers for being the first group to privately hire Outside The Box Board Games Café for an evening! Games played included The Logo Game, Scrabble, Herd Mentality, Kluster, Chess, Carcasonne, Drop It, Kittin, Maponimoes and Just One.

We’re looking for someone to host our Chatter & Natter tables on Wednesdays between 12pm and 3pm, as part of The Chatty Café Scheme. Members of the public are invited to sit at the table, simply to chat.

So, do you (or know someone) who…
🔹Enjoy speaking to new people and can kick-start conversations?
🔹Can be a friendly face at the table and promote it within the local community?
🔹Could spare a few hours a week to help promote and host the table?

No board game knowledge or experience is required for this role (we have plenty of people on hand to help with this!).

Loneliness is a silent killer, and this is a great way that we can work with the community to offer a space in our cafe to bring people together and tackle loneliness at the same time.

On Wednesday afternoons (noon until 3pm), the Outside The Box team invites you to come and enjoy a selection of classic games in the cafe. Games will be put out on each table and you can choose where you would like to sit. Gaming fees are waived!

We bake off our pies to order, so we strongly recommend pre-ordering your pie where possible, which can be done booking a table. Otherwise, it will be approimately a 40-minute wait until you can tuck into it. And our pies are subject to availability on the day.

If you're at a loose end on Saturday evening, come on down to Outside The Box and we will play a game with you.

Solo players are especially welcome @ Outside The Box. Open until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
