The Peasants’ Revolt Micropub

Oktoberfest is in full swing in Germany, so the time has come to raise a glass and say “Prost” to Oktoberfest at the Peasants Revolt!

We have 6x traditional German beers that will go on the pumps over Friday 27th and Saturday 28th of September. These are official fest beers from the likes of:

- Oktoberfest beer at its purest, a light, malty, bottom fermented beer at 6% abv

- one of the 6 breweries officially allowed to brew beer at Oktoberfest. A Marzen with a balanced flavour with malty aroma and tangy bitter notes. 5.8% abv

- The oldest still operating brewery, brewer if it’s first beer in 1040! This lager pours deep gold and off a delicate aroma of cereal and hops, which gives way to a crisp, bitter finish. 5.8% abv

- Fest Marzen at 5.6% abv. A medium bodied lager with a soft finish, pouring a dark golden colour.
uk - specially brewed for Oktoberfestfest this German Wheat Beer is smooth, strong and irresistibly amazing! Brewed in accordance with German purity laws. 5.7% abv

- One of the oldest producers of Scharzbier in Germany and just for a switch up of style! You’ll get toasted bitter flavours with a delicious aroma on the nose! A sensible 4.8% abv

This will be an absolute odyssey, nay a master class, nay a true eye opener for you Lager boys used to traditional lagers in the UK. Come expand your palate and maybe begin a journey where Pale Ale, Stout and Sour don’t scare the be’jesus out of you when you hear it!!

Leigh on Sea Brewing Company Ltd Lazy Haze is a delicious hazy pale from our pales in Leigh and we have a couple more old Leigh favourites that’ll be following this after the keg is wolloped

Brew York Juice Forsyth is a staple here and is back for good!

The Kernel Brewery small Pale Ale is 4% of expert brewing

Wiper and True Parasol Peach & Lemon ice Tea Pale has come on when the weather has changed, but will get you remembering better times in hotter climates! Refreshing!

After a late start The Peasants is open, providing shelter, warm friendly conversation (aka BANTER) and supplying those delicious beers, ciders, spirits & wines to help you get over having to cancel that family BBQ you had planned today!!

- Bianca Road Brew Pineapple & Passion Fruit Palaver Pale Ale at 4.5% abv

- New Bristol Brewery Kennedy Lives Hazy Pale at 5.7% and featuring the landlords favourite Amarillo hops among others in the brew

Remembers, there’s 2 x Cask and another 11 Keg beers as well so plenty to choose from.

A couple of very special bits in from the always quirky and reliable Amundsen Brewery.

Lots of flavour and choice in their Uncle Pops and Doughnut Series beers! We have 3 that will go on tap ASAP and 5 x Cans in the chiller for those of you who, like me, get too excited to wait!!

Early reports are these are all delicious people’s.

Hey you wonder-punks! Due to being very f* busy we are looking to add a few heads to our team of Beerficionardos (aka ‘Bar Staff’ to you magnolia people)!

The job is to help our customers navigate through our ever changing Craft & Cask Beer lineup, listening to their peferences and making suggestions based on your beery expertise. There’s also pouring pints etc, barista work, keeping the gaff clean & tidy, updating the beer board, replenishing stock & stock taking, some cellar & cast conditioning work and a few other adhoc bits and pieces as needed. So, working hard, having fun doing it & never touching my personally curated playlists!

There is room for people looking for full time or part time work, but being happy to work shift patterns including evenings and weekends are a must.

We are looking for:

- Previous bar/pub &/or barista experience
- A proactive, people person
- An interest in the UK craft beer scene and craft beer or at least a keeness to learn
- preferably live within 30 minutes of Brentwood, Essex
