** Showing Dad How It’s Done **
Michael and his daughter managed to land this lovely carp on a recent Daddy and Daughter bonding trip, and what a lovely memory!
**Sandhurst Fully**
Do they come much better than this ? Luke Donnelly had a mega session at Sandhurst recently, topped off by this unbelievable Yateley fully.
A beautiful dark mirror for team member Alex! What a cracking fish this one is 👀
Our Welsh wonder with another cracking, clean mirror.
After a mental week away in France, we are back!
The website will be open again next week, giving us abit of time to catch up with everything.
** And Still….. 🏆**
Last weekend saw Cory Mac retain his title as The Muddybanx Carp Masters Champion! Coming out late in the draw on the first day he managed to get in an area he was relatively happy with, fished hard and made it happen. Day 2 he came out higher up in the draw and chose a swim where he had the confidence to bring home the win. Fishing well both days really did pay off for our man!
Ed Dyer pipped Iain Grubb to 2nd place in the last half an hour of the match. Ed who had 2 good draws got into the fish on both days, unfortunately for the young team member the size of the fish just weren’t quite what he wanted, but a great effort to take the 2nd place finish!
Iain Grubb smashed the first day, but a late draw on day 2 left him with a lot to do to keep hold of the top spot, Grubby just needed one more big fish (that he’s very well known for) unfortunately a fish snagged him up on the horn, he made a great effort to free and land the fish but it wasn’t meant to be, our man cemented a solid and very respectable 3rd place finish.
A massive thank you to everyone who competed, helped, visited and supported our competition this year, we’ll be back next year for another set of qualifiers and a final!
** Sandhurst Chunk! **
Our man Liam Searle came out last in the draw…. But did that stop him 👀
This solid framed common of nearly 40lb made the trip for Liam. Is there any better commons in the country than a Yateley common?
** Model Angler **
Muddybanx model Connor Watts with a sandhurstlake 30lber from a recent social.
After moving rods to different spots where fish were active Connor reaped the rewards.
Our man also Vlogged his trip so check it out if you haven’t already.

CONNORS VLOG IS LIVE!

🚨 Muddybanx Carp Masters - qualifier 2 🚨
What a great weekends fishing for qualifier 2, the sun was out all weekend and the fish were up for some bait.
The draw was done and the swims were picked. Not long after the starting ho**er Jack Fairfax in peg 1 was into his first bite, and within an hour and a half his total was up to 4, it was clear that Jack was going to make the most of the fish in his come after only fishing once in the past year.
The rest of the lake seemed quiet whilst Jack was tallying them up, and he didn’t take his foot off the gas, ending up on 20 bites, 17 landed, the biggest being a 30lb common.
Darryl Taylor in peg 12 managed 4 quick bites in the last hour and a half of the first day which in the end was enough to see him through to the final.
Onto day 2, the redraw was done and new pegs were picked, young Ed Dyer came out first and opted for the previous days big hit swim. After deciding to change his spot half way through the day and send all three rods into a long range zone he managed 6 bites and saw him qualify too.
The first bites of the day fell to Blaise Price in peg 20 and Jack Chillingworth’s landed a mint 30lb common in peg 10.
Mr Bristol leads Dan Hole came out higher up in the draw and got his first choice swim and he definitely made the lost of it, with steady bites throughout the day seeing him book his spot in the final.
Blaise in peg 20 managed a couple more which loved him up the leader board.
Along came Iain Grubb, with a quick flurry of four fish, including 3 20lbers shot him into 2nd place and a qualifying spot.
Rikki Hopkins, James Wyatt and Blaise Price were all battling it out for the final qualifying spot, and it came down to 1oz being the difference. James Wyatt grabbed himself the last slot in the final with 2 19lbers and a 16lb common, which left Blaise missing out by an ounce and rikki missing out by 4oz!
A massive thank you to everyone who fished and helped over the 2 qualifiers and a big congratulations to our final 12!
**Lucy Joins The Team **
It’s great to see more and more female anglers these days and we are proud to bring Lucy onto the team here at Muddybanx! She’s no stranger to catching a few fish so expect to see abit more of her on our socials.
** Serious Carp **
"After spending some time leading around I found a firm, clear spot amongst the w**d. The spot was clear enough to present one of my favourite blow back rigs.
Applying a good amount of both crumbed and whole baits, I was finally rewarded the following morning with a cracking mirror going 41lb 13oz's.
Few spaces left in the last Muddybanx carp masters qualifier at durleigh reservoir on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July! £100 entry top 6 go through to a 12 man final on august 17/18th. 3 biggest fish count! Be nice to fill it as will help all the prizes! Either way top prize will be £1000 minimum 👍🏽👀🎣 although it’s a match it’s a good bunch involved so nothing to serious 👍🏽 message me if your interested cheers lads
A massive congratulations to our man Mono, today he opened his very own shop and smashed it! We’ll be down to Barnstaple Bait & Tackle tomorrow (Sunday 14th July) to kit out Chris Connaughton - Mono’s new shop! Pop in and say hi if you’re about.
** Redemption **
After fishing our first qualifier of The Muddybanx Carp Masters in tough conditions, our man Aaron Larson went back to the big South West water for abit of payback, and he got just that.
** Jak The Lad **
Team member Jak has made it out a couple weeks in a row for the first time in a while, he picked up right where he left off! This common being one of many bites over a couple sessions.
** Making The Most Of It **
Our man Ed Dyer has been right amongst the carp of late. Fishing at range and baiting heavily at a local south west reservoir kept the bites coming.
There’s something about the kingfisher for us carp anglers!
This cracking shot was captured by the very talented Mick Batley.
** If Carlsberg Did Carp **
Our man Blaise price took another trip back to Orchid lakes recently and what a result he had! ‘The Pretty One’ the name says it all!
🚨 Muddybanx Carp Masters 🚨
Our first qualifier of the 2024 competition took place over the weekend, and to say it was tough was a massive understatement!
The lads that took part all fished brilliantly but unfortunately the reservoir didn’t want to play ball until the lad half an hour of the last evening with 6 bites in a short period of time.
Congratulations to the lads that made it though to the final! A big thank you to everyone who took part, helped out and came up to visit.
It ended up
1st Steve Hobbs
2nd Dean Howe
3rd Luke Donnelly
4th Cory McKay
5th James Floyd
Wildcard - Rich Wilson
Photography captures some beautiful moments.
** Common or Mirror **
Tim’s time at the local reservoirs have been a great success over the first half of the year. This interesting looking carp was caught at range, but is it a common or is it a mirror ?
** The Mac Is Back **
After all of his attention has been focused on the sea of late, it was nice to catch up with Cory Mac for an evening session, in true form he put fish in the net, and what a cracker it is!
** Reservoir Success **
Since joining the team Will has had a great deal of joy of local South West reservoirs, this mirror in a lake of commons was a great result.
