****DAMAGE TO MUGA GOALS****
People have been sitting and swinging on the MUGA goal at the recreation ground and deformed it. The goals are expensive to replace and used by Nether Stowey Football Club as well as the public.
If the antisocial behaviour continues we will have to start locking the gates and the MUGA will have to be booked to gain access.
There is CCTV and the police do monitor the area due to past incidences.
Please could users respect the equipment and look after this important community space, and report any vandalism or anti-social behaviour.

The club is at the heart ❤️ of our recreation ground and we have big plans for modern changing facilities and social space. It’s a bright future for Nether Stowey Football Club
HELP WANTED!! Would you like to become involved in one of the fastest growing clubs locally?
Nether Stowey FC are proud to offer footballing opportunities to both male and female players aged 16+ as well as planned youth teams across six age groups for the 2023-24 season.
Any new players across senior and junior age groups are most welcome and are encouraged to either message this page or contact coach Steve Easden at [email protected] who will put you in touch with the relevant team.
We are actively looking for anyone that would be interested in supporting our men's Saturday 1st team in a management or coaching capacity.
Also, helpers / assistants at training and match days are very welcome as well as a range of "off pitch" roles to continue to make the club sustainable and forward thinking.
There are also a wide range of sponsorship opportunities if any businesses or individuals would like to come on board with us. Please be in touch for more information.
In summary, there are a wide range of roles available with varying levels of committment needed, from just a couple of hours a month through to weekly involvement. Without some additional help, we will struggle to continue to run aspects of the club as well as we do and this will hinder development and us continuing to grow.
For more info, please contact the page.
🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤
Nether Stowey Football Club, and the Recreational Ground have entered into a 6 year project guided by the Football Foundation where work will be carried out to improve the standard of the grass and ground within the playing field. As you can see from the photo below it require some TLC.
All products used are totally animal and human friendly.
There will also be decompression work which will involve light machinery.
This project will require treatment and work approx 3 times a year for the duration of the project.
Any concerns or for more information please pm Nigel Waterman , chair of Nether Stowey Football Club
Stowey Centre Project Update and AGM -
Stowey Centre Project Update and AGM Trustees worked incredibly hard to submit a planning application to Sedgemoor District Council in January 2023 for a new village hall with changing rooms, a car park and appropriate vehicle and pedestrian access. Full plans and supporting documents can be viewed on the Sedgemoor District Planning...
****IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS****
This is the THIRD lot of mess that has to had to be picked up TODAY! The issue has gradually worsened over the last month.
Please WATCH your dog at ALL TIMES when at the recreation ground as it is a shared space for ALL users. Dogs should be UNDER CONTROL at all times. Your dog. Your responsibility.
The dog warden has been informed and volunteers are monitoring the situation very closely. Be under no illusions that the playing field committee, football club and the charity who manage the site will hesitate to ban dogs from the site altogether if this continues. We have to ensure the safety of all users at the recreation ground and we cannot have one group putting another at risk.

Have your say...
With house prices and private rents skyrocketing and affordable homes hard to find, is Nether Stowey becoming too expensive for hard working families to live in?
As house prices and rental rates increase beyond the reach of many people’s incomes, especially in desirable rural areas local people might have to leave the village, away from their families and support networks.
If you are interested in affordable rented housing, please apply online at www.homefindersomerset.co.uk or if you’re interested in shared ownership housing, please apply online at www.helptobuyagent3.org.uk.
If you would like more information about the consultation, please contact our Development Team on 0800 585 360 or via email at [email protected].

***Fly Tipping***
The council who empty the bins at the recreation ground has mentioned that for the last month an excessive amount of food waste has been placed in the bin. The council collect food waste weekly from the curb-side for residents. If you need a new food waste bin contact Somerset Waste Partnership or https://www.somersetwaste.gov.uk/contact-us/
A gentle reminder: You can be prosecuted for fly tipping and the recreation ground is covered by CCTV.

Trustees we are aware of the vandalism and the local police are involved.
As a charity we are aware that there is a lack of youth provision and have in the last 10 days been discussing the possibility of new gym/climbing equipment and a skate park to replace the half pipe when the new village hall is built. It is exceptionally frustrating and saddening that a minority are spoiling it for the majority and does not fill us with any confidence that they will respect any new equipment we aim to provide.
Going forward we will be working to establish a Youth Membership in the charity and perhaps the perpetrators could be the first to join and put their creative skill to good use by making meaningful art not mindless vandalism or volunteering to clean up after themselves.
Want to play football or know someone who does? Then get in touch with Nether Stowey Football Club for opportunities…

So thank you to all that attended and supported Platinum Jubilee Party in the Park 2022 in Nether Stowey.
The laser show finale paid for by Nether Stowey Parish Council closed the day which despite the damp end was a great celebration for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee.
Without the grant from the Parish Council we would have broken even - so thank you!
A big shout out to our army volunteers who without you none this would have been possible! There are too many off you to mention individually but you know who you are and the community is eternally grateful.
A particular thanks goes Jo and Dave Davison, Sharon Mayell and Eleanor Jones, who coordinated the day.
We’d also like to thank the following supporters of Party in the Park 2022:
The Marion Evered Trust for the load of the marquee .
Faun & Co; for the burgers for the BBQ

Did you know that Stowey Green Spaces quietly litter picks during and after Party in the Park? Without their quiet dedication many green spaces in Nether Stowey would be an overgrown, litter filled state
If you’re able to give a little bit back to the group by offering an hour of you time at Party in the Park they’d love to here from you.
