Sorry for the long absence. Due to exams, coursework and a new job, I haven't had capacity to arrange any further meetups. It's unlikely any will happen before late July due to the finals. Unless a volunteer 🙋‍♀️ would like to put something out there for Eastbourne or Brighton?

Don't forget, if you're needing support now, there is also the Pride Cafe: Bourne Out, 1 The Labyrinth, 7 Mark Lane, Eastbourne.

https://bourneoutlgbt.co.uk/ for times and details.

Home BourneOutLGBT Cafe located on Mark Lane, Eastbourne is an all inclusive cafe and social space for the LGBTQ+ community. I've made this post in response to the question raised by many meet-up attendees: "Why join this page if I'm already following the 'Brighton Asexual Meet Up' page?"

♣️♦️To clarify, this page is the only ACTIVE page for all asexual meet-ups in the South East of England, updated by the organisers themselves ❤♠️

You can invite people with this link: https://www.facebook.com/SouthEastAcesUK

The 'Brighton Asexual Meet Up' page is **not** managed by an active attendee. They can not regularly respond to queries, they can not meet visitors at the station, nor guide them around the city/town. They can only cross-post our announcements to their page. I can do nothing about the Brighton page posting dates without enough notice, missed dates or unresponsive. Their intentions are good & earnest, but because they are not an organiser, they naturally aren't able to answer your questions, and they can not meet the physical demands needed of such a commitment.

Brighton and Eastbourne asexual meetups are co-ordinated by Zyden and Noino. Dates and venues are decided based on attendees' requests and feedback across various platforms.

By joining the South East Aces Meetup Page, you will be privy to the most up-to-date arrangements, travel info & planning details with plenty of preparation time. You'll also be optionally connected with other local aces via safe & private groups on WhatsApp & Discord (by invite only).

You can chat more with Zyden and Noino over at the AVEN Forums in the Meetup Mart: https://www.asexuality.org/en/forum/12-meetup-mart/

Thanks for the great turnout on the 29th Oct and those stupendous spoopy outfits!
There will be an ace hiatus over winter as most people are very busy with other festivities, but we will reconvene in Spring 2023 for more Brighton-based antics and day trips!

25/09/2022

A new date has been added to the Brighton Meetup diary.
Saturday Oct 29th at Brighton Station 1pm. Optional Halloween costumes or accessories are encouraged.
Meeting just outside the station. Look for the ace flags.
We'll be heading to The Yellow Book bar. Drinks available. Food can be ordered in. Wheelchair accessible and non-gendered toilets.
Dog friendly bar. An ace ally friend is always welcome if you want to bring one for moral support.

The meetup on October 1st is still going ahead. 1pm meeting at train station. But be aware there are train strikes, so plan carefully.

If this is your first time joining, we recommend you let us know so we can be sure not to leave the station without you.

Sorry, you do not have permission for that! 11/09/2022

The next Brighton Asexual Meetup will be Saturday the 1st of October at 1pm.

Where: Meeting just outside Brighton Station.
When: 1pm. Sat Oct 1st. Look for ace flags!

Weather permitting, we will hang out on the beach and later have a BBQ/fire. If the weather seems too cold or wet then we will head to a bar TBA.

I encourage people as it is October (if they would like) to dress up or wear a spooky accessory!

There will be about 20mins of walking from Station to the beach or bar.

Check the AVEN Brighton Meetup Thread for updates on the day: https://www.asexuality.org/en/topic/120838-brighton-meetup/?do=findComment&comment=1064808742

Sorry, you do not have permission for that!

A casual stroll up the Seafront and some picnic time on the beach or lawns. Dogs are welcome and I will be bringing two very small and very friendly pups (note that dogs must be on a leash along the seafront between May 1st to Sept 30th).

Pottery painting is an optional activity and the cafe supplies everything you need - pay only for what you use.

Downstairs toilet is genderless.

We will end about 4.30pm and walk people back to the station. If you need to leave earlier, we won't be offended.

We'll be alternating the Acebourne meetups with Brighton on a monthly basis, so if you miss us this July, there will be another Eastbourne meeting in September (details to be confirmed).

The next Brighton Ace Meetup will be in August. Date tbc.

A note on COVID: Masks are currently optional
