Organic September is here, a campaign by the Soil Association to shout about all the great organic products that are available to us across the UK, and you may not know it, but our very own Green Monkey coffee is Soil Association Certified Organic, and it’s roasted at Trading Post Lewes.

Certified organic coffee is grown by farmers who focus on the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality, assuring the health of the soil, the forest and the farmers, not just for us today, but for future generations too.

I joined Trading Post earlier this year as Head Chef of our new Worthing Coffee House.

🌍 Outside of work, I enjoy visiting new places. I’ve been to Egypt this year, and I’m off to Tunisia in a couple of weeks. I’m also a keen football fan and hope Chelsea can at least break into the top four this season. 😅

It’s back… Tres Dragones Single Origin. 🐉

After making it’s 2024 debut at over the weekend, this Columbian single origin is back. With juicy, fruity flavour notes of raspberry, mandarin orange and a hint of blueberry, the coffee cherry is fermented for up to 22 hours before pulping, then fermented once more to intensify the sweetness.

I joined Trading Post just over three months ago, starting in the barista role and within my first week I was proudly promoted to supervisor at Worthing!

💚 Best thing about TP? There are so many things! Top of the list would be my amazing team and the shared passion for exceptional service & delicious coffee.

☕️ Fave coffee? My go-to drink is an iced Americano black, with our Black Pearl blend.

I've been working for Trading Post Coffee Roasters for just over a year now as the general manager of Chichester and newly opened Worthing. 👋

🏃‍♂️Spare time? Training for my next marathon. I’ve entered the London Marathon for the past three years and never got in, so with a bit of luck I might get in next time, and I’m currently training for the Chichester Half Marathon.
🐶 Any pets? Not now, but I love dogs so hoping I'll be ready for one by the end of year. 😬

At home, my culinary passion revolves around preparing classical British dishes. At Trading Post, my absolute favourite dish to cook is the flavourful shakshuka!

Away from the kitchen, my enthusiasm extends to all things automotive. Whether I'm catching up on F1 or tinkering with cars, my love for the automotive world keeps me engaged and inspired. ☕

Introducing: Koileki Village🇹🇱
Tasting Notes: Banana, Brown Sugar & Chocolate

We're extremely proud to be roasting this incredible single origin from Koileki Village, nestled in the municipality of Ermera, Timor-Leste. Our journey takes us to the Raimutin Wet Mill, a symbol of sustainable coffee processing. Located at 1400 meters above sea level, it serves as the heart of coffee processing for Ermera's producers. It's not just a place for processing; it's a community hub for sharing ideas and fostering a love for specialty coffee.

Here, the finest cherries undergo pulping and fermentation for 24 to 32 hours before being carefully washed. The parchment coffee is dried on raised beds for 15 to 20 days under the sun's watchful gaze. Finally, when the moisture content reaches the perfect 14%, the coffee is prepared for export at the Railaco dry mill.

For those who appreciate the natural process, the story is equally captivating. Cherries from Koileki Village follow a similar path of density separation and meticulous hand-sorting. Then, they are spread out on raised beds and dried under the sun for three weeks. When they reach the perfect drying level, the seeds are extracted and prepared for export.

We're very excited to be offering the first batch of Koileki Village on our website now! Be quick though, we have a limited supply and this coffee won't hang around for long!
