As a charity, we rely on income from our classes programme, our studio hires and the generosity of our funders and supporters to offer free and low cost dance to people in our community and to support dance artists in these challenging times.

So, a massive THANK YOU to Daisy Hatch, a student Horsham School of Dance, who nominated us to receive the proceeds from programme sales at their recent show The Capitol Theatre 🙏.

It's harder than ever for artists to find the resources they need, so we will be channelling the £200 raised into our Flourish bursaries programme, which offers dance artists small financial boosts to develop their practice.

You can donate at any time to support our work by visiting our website here: https://tinyurl.com/277kxw6v

Everything you can offer is always hugely appreciated. Thanks to all our supporters and thank you Daisy!

Are you looking for somewhere new to hold your conference or AGM?

New Writing South held their brilliant Publishing & Industry Day at The Dance Space back in March this year and we were chuffed when their Artistic Director Anna Jefferson had this to say about their experience (see image)

• A modern, environmentally sustainable, accessible building with light, airy spaces and high-spec tech🛜
• Run by us at South East Dance. We are a friendly bunch and - most importantly - a registered charity, so every penny you spend supports dance in the local community👋

Jaivant Patel Company's award-winning Waltzing The Blue Gods, featuring globally respected choreographers, composers, and musicians, is coming to for one very special performance on Sunday 4 August at 6pm, during weekend.

This liberating tale reimagines the Q***r symbolism of the Hindu gods, Shiva and Krishna, and the role they played in Jaivant Patel’s sexual and spiritual awakening in becoming an openly homosexual British-Indian man.

Part auto-biographical, part fantasy, the evening celebrates new possibilities for a rich and traditional art form, Kathak, in the context of modern contemporary Britain that’s proud of its LGBTQI+ narratives.
