What is Restorative Yoga and how can it help you?
Yoga instructor Eva Kozacikova explains:
"Restorative yoga is a gentle and nourishing practice that helps to repair and restore your body and mind, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This gentle, slow-paced, meditative form of yoga allows you to focus on your breath while releasing tension in your mind and body. By softening and relaxing into postures with as little muscular and mental effort as possible, your body is better able to rest, heal and restore.
This class uses various props such as cushions, blankets, chairs, and yoga blocks. These props support your body as you ease into each posture, allowing you to deeply relax and release tension. By using props, you can comfortably hold poses for longer periods, promoting a deeper sense of rest and rejuvenation. Using props in restorative yoga can also help improve your body's alignment, reduce the risk of injury, and increase flexibility. By fully supporting your body, you can let go of any unnecessary tension and find greater ease in your practice."
Eva's next 6wk Restorative Yoga course starts on Tuesday 4 June, 12pm to 1.15pm, at Brighton Buddhist Centre, Tichborne Street. (Bookings through Evolution Arts).
Getting Started With Creative Writing
New 6wk course starts Friday 7 July.
The perfect course if you are new to creative writing and want to explore its possibilities, or if you have done a little creative writing in the past, and would like a refresher.
You’ll use the stimulus of listening to a short piece of writing - whether poetry or prose - to inspire you to write. Over the weeks you’ll build a momentum of our own creative writing practice through writing, editing and feedback.
2pm to 4pm, Brighton Buddhist Centre, Tichborne St.
