However the store (which is where the bargains are) is going.

Version 2.0 of The Record Republic has arrived.

We are now offering funded vinyl manufacture for clients old and new.

When we started the Record Republic, nowhere in any business manual did it say, start a business in a post pandemic scenario, where there is a worldwide shortage of raw materials where your business relies on those raw materials.

We had to adapt very quickly, shelve our original business model and push forward the best way we could.

We have said before, and will happily say over and over again, a big thank you to customers that put up with a 10 month wait for certain products, by and large without complaint.

And what we proved was that we were robust, we are resilient and we are still here.

And we are happy to announce our manufacturing lead time is now 10 weeks and we can now offer our funded presale vinyl option to labels and artists.

We will soon be launching the next stage of the development of The Record Republic offering funded vinyl manufacture, full mastering services including vinyl mastering with lacquers and worldwide vinyl distribution.

So we need to clear the decks (no pun intended) and sell off some of the last remaining stock items.

Record Republic update.

Following on from previous notification about our change in business model - we will be moving over to our new pre funded vinyl manufacturing model very shortly.

Testing is in its advanced stages.

Our last project under the standard manufacturing model was the brilliant release from Yuri Denysenko which has been shipping directly from our store for a couple of weeks and goes on full worldwide distribution this Friday so you should be able to order it from your vinyl store of choice.

Good news for you as it gets around expensive shipping.

Good news for us as it stops us having to deal with queries about how expensive the shipping is. 😀

ISOS06 is shipping. The shipping company and fulfilment centre have advised me that the backlog will have been completed by tomorrow.

You can imagine, I’m sure, how many orders there were to complete.

ISOS06 IS PRESSED!!!!

Trying to get it shipped to our UK fulfilment this week but if not it will definitely be next week......

News this morning. So the good news …. we have been told that the record will on press shortly to be shipped to us for ongoing fulfilment at the beginning of November.

So that’s a letter last week (posted) and now a timeline. The end really is in sight. As always, thanks for your patience.

Now there is also some bad news…

There is a clause with our manufacturer that due to the ever increasing cost of raw materials - that they have the right to pass on charges up to delivery.

We have already had 5 price rises this year but none of them passed on to our customers and none of them as large as this one.

They are going to surcharge us 30% on this product and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.

Obviously we are going to honour all pre orders.

We are also not going to pass it all on. But the harsh reality is that vinyl costs have doubled for us in the last 12 months and we can’t absorb it anymore.

Vinyl pre order products will be increasing by 20% on Friday 21st October.

ISOS06 and AZOTTI manufacturing and delivery update.....

This communication was received this morning from our manufacturers. Sharing it in the interests of transparency, for our wonderfully patient customers.....

slightly edited due to confidentiality clauses....

START:

The migration of our ERP system to Dynamics 365 continues to progress although not as fast as expected. Since mid-May, our teams have been working tirelessly with the full support of our external IT partners. Yet, despite this, we have still to fully resolve some of the synchronization issues between the different stages of manufacturing – something that is vital for our manufacturing operations.

The loss of capacity meant we fell behind on our order book during the summer.

In addition, one of our offset printing machines, dedicated to vinyl, experienced a major breakdown which rendered it inoperative for almost 3 weeks.

As a result, we were obliged to use subcontractors which again caused delays to the supply of key print items like Vinyl Labels and a further backlog of approximately 500,000 printed sheets. Fortunately, the printer is ready to resume operations.

To manage existing stress levels within the Dynamics system and deal with the existing backlog, the company has decided to revise downwards our production plan for the months of October to December. In short, our delivery commitments to you will reduce by approximately
-25%.

If we take this action now, it is hoped that we will return to normal operations sooner than expected. With this in mind, we hope to provide a further update in November with hopefully some positive news.

The entire ************* team are fully aware of the continuing impact our production issues have had on your activities. We are deeply sorry. This does not reflect the commitment of ***** to the service of both the Entertainment and Cultural Good sectors which we have supported for more than ** years.

Rest assured that these drastic and painful measures are only taken to regain the level of reliability that you have the right to expect.

Some good news is that I know our printing has been done so I hope we are not too far down the list ...

Copied from one of the posts on another thread. ISOS06 will be released as soon as it arrives from the factory.
And the factory are in a mess at the moment (of their own making) due to huge backlog caused by the implementation of a “new system”. I am aware that the printing has been done and we were on the list for the 19th September. I wasn’t expecting them to meet this and I wasn’t disappointed. This has been going on since the 12th July. The only improvement is that we are now back on their schedules for the the first time. Awful situation and, I can only thank people for their patience.

I can assure everyone that if we had a crystal ball we would never have put these up for presale.

We were told in good faith that it would be delivered on the 12th July.

All of our previous projects had been delivered on time.

We remain hopeful that it will be here in the next few weeks.

Those of you that visit our social media pages on a regular basis may already be aware of this. For the benefit of those that don’t and for a full update, please take a few minutes out of your day to read this.

This is Yuri. Yuri is a talented producer signed to Blackhole Recordings and he releases under the name Azotti.

He lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.

He originally contacted me via Blackhole, as they had kindly given him permission to release a 12-inch vinyl and as some of you may know, The Record Republic license some of their material for vinyl release.

As a result of this connection, myself and Yuri now speak a lot via Facebook.

As a Ukrainian, life is tough for Yuri.

The constant threat of missile attacks and all the associated effects of war means that Yuri’s life has literally been catapulted into chaos and fear.

Yuri has shared phone footage and photographs with me that are sad and terrifying in equal measure.

He has lost many close friends and has told me he feels lucky to be alive.

Yet he remains resilient and upbeat. Even In the early days of the war sharing a photograph of how one of our records managed to get to him via the now suspended European postal service.

A very happy face in his very chaotic world.

So, ourselves. Blackhole and Yuri have instigated a plan.
We are manufacturing his single with all the profits going directly to Yuri.

To be told that the money will be used to buy medical supplies, bullet proof vests and to directly help his friends and family to survive, was sobering to say the least.

Ironically, we won’t be able to get his records directly to him until European Postage is resumed, but what we can get him is money to directly help a member of the musical family.

Initially we are pressing 300 but if we can get enough pre-orders in early on, then we can increase this number and help him financially even further.

In addition to that, we can collect money from advanced sales, so he can receive financial help sooner rather than later.

The record itself won’t start shipping until probably around November time – although that piece of detail is somewhat missing the point.

Further delay on ISOS06 unfortunately.
This is down to a "backlog" of orders at the factory.
We were advised of this on Wednesday this week.
I have been waiting foir a revised shipping date but unfortunately, I don't have one as yet and have been in the game long enough to know that it is pointless guessing.
On the plus side, this is the first time this has happened and I have been informed that it is only affecting recrrds in this current cycle.
On the downside, its ISOS06 - one of our biggest so far - and so far our most delayed.
Hang in there friends, as soon as I know, you will know.
