Sorry i've not been replying to messages today, i've not been well after the weekend, so just having Monday as a write-off/recovery day. Will be replying to everyone and sorting business from tomorrow as usual. Thanks for your understanding!

Sorry to hear that Lucas Vance who bought this PC off me decided to 'bin' it because it started prompting him at the post screen to go into windows (i think because of two external drives he'd added - he told me he hadn't done anything, but the drives came up on a photo of the post screen he sent me 🤔)

A problem i could have easily fixed in the BIOS, and even offered to go to Gloucester to help him in person rather than him bringing it to me (because he said he wss too unwell). He said he would rather buy a new PC and take this one to the tip than let me salvage a lot of expensive parts.

He didn't care about or need the money apparently. Well as an NHS worker, that makes me sick frankly!

Picked up a beast of a relic today.. The dual-GPU GTX 690.. Who had one of these? Or wanted one back in 2012?

It was supposedly as good as two 680's in SLI.. i'll definitely be testing it as a single GPU, and in the long dead SLI mode in supported games.

Thanks to Alice India Smith for the sale!

This one has gone through a few graphics card changes, but i'll finally be listing it sometime in the next week. A great mid range gaming PC that because of its high core-count processor and large amount of memory, will also be great for audio and video editing, as well as a streaming PC.

NVIDIA GTX 1080 8GB
32GB 3200MHz DDR4 in quad-channel

Two of these budget gaming PC's available. All the info is in the listing - however it needs to be said that you're getting very good FPS on good graphics settings in Fortnite, Rocket League, CS:GO and GTA5 for not much money here!

So, this is the other project still in the works.. i upgraded the CPU from an i7-7800X (6C, 8T) to an i7-9800X (8C, 16T), and used the 3060Ti in an upgrade for my brother.

I bought a 2060 Super from someone local on FB marketplace, and tested it with firestrike with the guy here in person. It passed. But i didn't test it on a DX12 game did i.. after the guy left it kept crashing, the fans starting being noisy and it was just a disaster. The guy did not want to give my money back. That card is currently listed as parts/not working on eBay.

I bought another 2060Super from AliExpress. It arrived 6 days before the estimated date... in BIRMINGHAM. DHL said i'd been given the wrong tracking number, so i went to message the seller and their account is gone. I've opened a dispute with AliExpress.. i should be able to get a full refund?!

I will have a 2060S for this thing eventually! Then it will be a streaming, editing and 1440p beast!

This beauty (not sponsored by Simpsons pictures that I gone and done or NORTHERN MONK) will be available next week, once i've tested a few games on it - with a 6C/12T Intel processor, 3060Ti and 32GB RAM; this is bound to be a streaming, gaming and editing MACHINE

I've not posted anything in a while because christmas/new year etc up until now has just been really busy. I'm still pretty busy to be honest, and i'm moving house again next month.

However i'm still building and testing gaming PC's for the benefit of you guys, making sure you don't get ripped off by someone who isn't me basically! Here's a couple i have in the works at the moment. The white one will be listed on Marketplace and Gumtree either tonight or tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled! (ew)

This just listed - one of two identical* Dell Optiplex gaming PC upgrades that will be ready from tomorrow.

*The 1050Ti is a different brand in each system, but that's all!

Photos from Mark Does Computer Stuff's post 01/12/2022

Today i am mostly taking apart and cleaning up a dumpster-dive PC that has most likely been rained on many times, but it's been beside a radiator in my house for long enough now for me to see if it will power on and return to life. It's likely too old and slow to be sale-worthy, but maybe i'll leave it outside my house for someone to pick up once i get it working.

The next job is upgrading my personal computer with this graphics card and power supply (my current PSU is ever so slightly too weak to power this card and the rest of my components safely). However i may want to use my last day off this week to play some games.. so i might bin off the dumpster dive project!
