Well, that was quite a day in the Bristol Metal Quarter! The biggest of thanks to Municipal Waste for coming by for the signing session here. A brilliant time was had by all, thank you to everyone who attended - also huge thanks for the shoutout during the gig! It’s always a blast when the Waste come through town!

A lot of beer drank, a near physical fight with as***le bootleggers outside the venue and an impromptu “DJ” set in the shop from Phil until an hour where he really should have been back on the bus!

So… a lot of you were hoping for it! A lot of you were asking for it!

TOMORROW! Municipal Waste meet and greet and signing session at Black City Records at 4:15pm before the Beacon show with Cannibal Co**se, Immolation and Schizophrenia.

We will close the shop at 4pm to allow the band to arrive and settle in and then will reopen for the meet and greet as near to, or around 4:15pm.

Municipal Waste

Another week begins at the Black City. We’ve a mixed bag to get us going with today.

A long time since the Madman was adorning the racks - classic era Ozzy is available now!

For those who like their metalpunk with a blackened edge, ‘The Appearing’ from Karloff makes its debut here. And then for those tripped out stoner grooves, it’s good to have back the ever so aptly titled ‘Heavy Psych’ from Nebula and the self titled bruiser from Saltpig.

Wow! What a day at the Black City. A rare one-off acoustic set from our good friends in Winterfylleth

Songs from the past, songs from the present and a cheeky Bathory cover thrown in for good measure. A truly memorable experience for all involved. Thank you so much to all who attended, the band themselves, Rebecca Collins for amazing door duties, The Gryphon for hosting post set Jenga frivolity and was great to see one of our oldest collaborators in metal pushing, Cult Never Dies

Hard punching (literally) heavy hitters back in stock today! The greatest thrash album of all time? Of course it bloody is! The beyond legendary ‘Reign In Blood’ from Slayer makes a return to the racks. Perfectly accompanied by its palette cleansing successor’South Of Heaven’. Both only available instore only!

Pantera’s massive ‘Vulgar Display Of Power’ is back too. A landmark album of its time stacked with songs (contrary to what most club nights would have you believe) that are way better than Walk. We’ve also a few copies of the blistering ‘Far Beyond Driven’ in too (original cover artwork to boot).

Starting off our week big here at the Black City. We more or less had to fight bears to get these, but we’ve acquired quite the stash of two absolute classics from the (words dont do the term justice) legends that were KYUSS.

We’ve a supply of ‘Welcome To Sky Valley’ and ‘…When The Circus Comes To Town’ in. We’re not expecting these to last very long at all so half the stock is online and the other half only instore.

BRISTOL!

Orange Goblin will be heading to play at The Fleece on Thursday 10th October as part of the 'Science, Not Fiction' UK & Ireland tour, but ahead of the show, the band will be at the city's number one Heavy Metal shop, Black City Records to meet and greet with fans and sign CD's, vinyl, posters etc. This takes place at 6pm until 6.30pm.
