Here at , we are big fans of the On the Ledge podcast. So, we were very happy to have houseplant legend .l.perrone sign copies of Legends of the Leaf for us.
We’ll have a few copies available during Spring Festival, so pop along to our stall at Festival of Houseplants to snap one up.
Next week, Wild Leaf will be heading over to for the Spring Festival (9th - 12th May).
You will be able to find us exhibiting alongside many of our favourite plant businesses at the festival’s inaugural Green Rooms Market. Shop from and be inspired by over 50 brilliant botanical businesses selling plants, planters, accessories and more.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend talks and workshops with your favourite houseplant influencers such as Johnny Balchandani (), Ben Newell (), Sarah Gerrard_Jones () and Jane Perrone (.l.perrone).
We’ve had an exciting delivery this morning and we’re now freshly restocked with all our favourite Bergs pots!
Bergs design their unique terracotta pots in Denmark and they are handcrafted in small, family-owned workshops in northern Italy and Portugal.
Plants love the high-quality clay of these pots - the absorbent nature of terracotta makes them perfect for directly planting up succulents, cacti, or Hoya, whilst also holding enough moisture for other plants such as monstera.
Bergs pots are durable, designed to last forever, and come in a range of lovely designs to adorn your home and show off your plant friends!
We have a host of exciting events at Wild Leaf this spring. This week, on Friday the 12th, we have our Kokedama workshop and we still have a few places free.
Kokedama is a traditional Japanese way of planting to create a self-contained decorative moss ball that is perfect for displaying plants in place of a pot. In this workshop, you will learn about the history and techniques of this Japanese art form before getting stuck into planting up your Kokedama. We have found that this planting technique works well with epiphytic plants - their roots love the cramped conditions when bound in moss. You will be able to choose from a variety of plants, such as orchids, bromeliads, pothos and ferns.
All our events are listed on Yuup and are available to book via the link in our bio. We suggest booking ahead to avoid disappointment, as places are limited!

Over the last few days, we have been busy mounting these incredible Platycerium superbums onto cork.
Mounting epiphytes onto wood is a great way to display them, offering different textures and colours to accompany your plant and opening up new options for displaying. Planting in this way means you can mount them flat onto a wall; you can even place a frame around them and create your own living piece of art! Mounting epiphytic plants also mimics the conditions in which they would be found in nature, leading to a happier, healthier plant. A win, win!
Orchids, ferns and vines are all great plants for this planting technique. We have many different sizes and types in the shop, mounted and ready to find their new homes.
We’re very excited to be featured alongside a host of brilliant independent businesses in ‘An opinionated guide to Bristol’ - this little guide from Hoxton Mini Press is full of the best places to eat, drink, play and shop - the ‘creme de la crème’ of Bristol, if you will. Copies are available to buy in store!
Our mushroom kits are back in stock due to popular demand!
We’re having a bit of a ‘mushroom moment’ here at Wild leaf - fungi are fascinating and beautiful living organisms in a category all of their own. Sitting somewhere between plants and animals, scientists are constantly uncovering new ways in which they play a vital role in our ecosystems.
We’re a little bit obsessed! Mushroom growing kits are the perfect way to see their magic up close. Easy to grow, and small enough to fit on a windowsill or on top of a cupboard, they are ideal for those who want to grow their own delicious produce without the luxury of outdoor space. We currently stock Pink, Gold and Blue Oyster kits. If you’re mushroom mad like us, you can also find Fungi books, candles and decor in the shop, along with mush, mush more ;)

While the word ‘bonsai’ is of Japanese origin, the concept of this art form actually took root in China. Since the Yin and Zhou dynasties nearly 3,000 years ago, people in China have cultivated ornamental plants to imitate natural scenery within gardens – a craft known as penjing. The traditional art form involves growing miniature trees in shallow pots, carefully pruning and shaping them to create intricate and beautiful miniature landscapes.
For several reasons, the centuries-old hobby is fast becoming an emerging houseplant trend for 2023.
Firstly, bonsai trees are visually stunning and add a unique touch to any living space.
Additionally, bonsai trees are easy to care for and can be grown indoors, making them a perfect choice for those wanting to bring nature into their homes. They require minimal watering and pruning and can live for many years with proper care.
Finally, bonsai trees are also a symbol of patience, perseverance, and mindfulness.
