Earlier this year, Will Warwick, a Geography teacher at St John's C of E Middle School Academy in Bromsgrove, took on a 24-hour challenge walking around the school grounds to raise funds for Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre🚶

Will said: "I wanted to raise money for Primrose Hospice after hearing of the extremely tough times that a number of our pupils and their families had been through as a result of bereavement and loss of people close to them. I felt that I didn't want anyone to ever be in a position where they couldn't find support somewhere. Primrose Hospice can provide this and help to guide people through heartbreaking loss.”

Will walked a HUGE 63 miles in over 140,000 steps, raising £3,643!💛This and , we would like to say thank you to everyone who donated to Will's challenge.

An estimated 1.5 million people face bereavement every single year, and we want to support more people who may be facing the toughest time in their lives. Our Family Support Team can support you through a vast variety of ways, including counselling, support groups, complementary therapy and much more. But we can only continue to support our community with donations like Will's challenge.💛Please consider donating or taking on your own challenge to help us support more people in 2024.

Today is , a day that was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good! 💛You could volunteer your time, donate money, share your skills, campaign for something, donate goods, food, or clothes; the list is endless!

This Giving Tuesday, we are saying thank you to Jo, who recently took on her second amazing challenge for Primrose Hospice - a LOOP THE LOOP! 🛩️ Jo has previously completed a Wing Walk, and along with her recent Loop the Loop has raised a total of £4,325.58! 💛

Now, you don't have to strap yourself to the top of a plane to help support Primrose Hospice, there are many things you can do to help us, including volunteering your time. Jo is our Volunteers' Manager said: “Well, what a fantastic and exhilarating experience the loop the loop wing walk was. I would recommend it to anyone! It's obviously not for the faint-hearted but if you are anything like me and an adrenalin lover, it most certainly ticks all the boxes and knowing that all of the money raised through sponsorship helps in a small way for Primrose to continue to offer the valuable services that it does, adds to the amazing experience.”💛

This Autumn we are looking for people to volunteer to support our vital Family Support Team 💛It might be for as little as a couple of hours a month, or more if you have the time to spare, we welcome any support you can give.

We have roles available, including:
💛 Family Support - Provide a ‘listening ear’ for families they support
💛 Wellbeing - Provide assistance within their support groups
💛 Children & Young People - Support their group sessions for young people
💛 Complementary Therapy - Provide therapy like reflexology, massage and more.

Rachel Watts, who volunteers with our Children's and young people team said: "After Primrose supported myself and my family when my sister was ill with cancer and after she had died, I felt passionately about being able to give something back. Volunteering with the teenage group is a unique and humbling experience; they are an amazing group of young people brought together by sad circumstances. We have lots of fun and a space to talk about the situations bringing them together (should they want to). Although I intended to give something back, I also get so much from volunteering.”
