Our Story

Born out of one man’s desire to help those moving from temporary housing into permanent properties, NewStarts still provides free furniture to individuals and families in most need, helping them make a property a home. But as with all great ideas, things have moved on. Now we also sell affordable items, providing a stepping stone for those trying to improve their circumstances and wanting to choose their items. We also recycle, refurbish and sell computers at affordable prices, ensuring that no one has to be digitally excluded because of cost. But having a computer doesn't mean you know how to use it, so we also provide training on how to use a computer. And on top of all this we provide over 100 work placements and volunteering opportunities every single year. It is an amazing project and one which we are incredible proud of especially when we think that over the past 10 years we have helped over 90,000 people in one way or another. We would love for you to get involved either by volunteering for us, donating household items, computers etc to us or supporting us in our fund-raising efforts.
