Developing your emotional intelligence has far reaching effects for you, your relationships and your wellbeing. 💕 this is one of my favourite topics to deliver and facilitate.

"Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ" by Daniel Goleman explores the concept of emotional intelligence (EQ) and its critical role in personal and professional success.

Here are ten lessons from the book:

1. Understanding Emotional Intelligence: Emotional intelligence involves the ability to recognize, understand, and manage our own emotions, as well as recognize, understand, and influence the emotions of others. Goleman identifies five key components: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.

2. Self-Awareness: Self-awareness is the ability to understand your own emotions and their impact on your thoughts and behavior. Goleman emphasizes the importance of recognizing your emotional states and how they affect your actions and decisions.

3. Self-Regulation: Self-regulation involves managing your emotions in healthy ways. Goleman highlights the importance of controlling impulsive feelings and behaviors, managing stress, and adapting to changing circumstances.

4. Intrinsic Motivation: High levels of emotional intelligence are associated with strong intrinsic motivation. Goleman suggests that being driven by internal rewards, such as personal growth and fulfillment, rather than external rewards, leads to higher achievement and satisfaction.

5. Empathy: Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Goleman argues that empathy is crucial for building strong relationships, effective communication, and compassionate leadership.

6. Social Skills: Social skills involve managing relationships to move people in desired directions. Goleman emphasizes the importance of effective communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to work well in teams.

7. The Impact on Leadership: Emotional intelligence is a key trait of effective leaders. Goleman explains that leaders with high EQ can inspire, motivate, and connect with their teams more effectively than those who rely solely on intellectual capabilities.

8. Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace: EQ is critical for workplace success. Goleman discusses how employees with high emotional intelligence can better navigate the social complexities of the workplace, lead and work well with others, and achieve higher job performance.

9. Developing Emotional Intelligence: Unlike IQ, which is largely static, emotional intelligence can be developed and improved over time. Goleman provides strategies for enhancing each component of EQ through self-reflection, mindfulness, and practice.

10. The Link Between Emotional Intelligence and Well-being: Goleman highlights the strong connection between emotional intelligence and overall well-being. People with high EQ tend to have better mental health, stronger relationships, and greater resilience to stress.

These lessons from "Emotional Intelligence" underscore the profound impact that understanding and managing emotions can have on all aspects of life, from personal relationships to professional success and overall well-being.

I’m always pleasantly surprised by how the simplest of things resonate and ground me. Life is so busy, it’s easy to get caught up in the ’rush’. Taking a breath and noticing the beauty around us, in the simplest and purest things reminds me just to be. I am enough, you are enough. We are all on our unique journey and it cannot be compared with anyone else’s. We all can benefit from finding that peace within ourselves. When I’m in nature, I feel I’m in touch with my soul, my inner child and I love the sense of peace it brings.
Remember to do things that bring you inner peace and calm whilst the rest of the world is on fast forward. 🙏🏻🌹💕

It’s Mother’s Day soon, days like this can bring a roller coaster of emotions for people.
I was going to do a post offering gift vouchers for those who want to gift either the opportunity for some well deserved relaxation or the gift of change to their mums, aunts or whoever is their mother figure.
On reflection, I want to offer anyone who is reading this peace 🕊️and love 💕, irrespective of what this day means for you. 🥰🌟🦋

Have you ever wondered if you’re on the right path?
In my experience if I’m on the wrong path things start happening to draw my attention to it. The trick is to notice it.
I now know when I’m in flow, I feel completely at peace and yet energised. When I’m working with people in Hypnotherapy or Coaching (life, Executive or business) - I’m feeding my soul. That one to one focus on change and guiding and supporting individuals to be the best version of them, to unburden the unhelpful thoughts, patterns and behaviours and see them surprise themselves is amazing. I’m so lucky that helping others is what feeds my soul.

How many masks do you wear? 🎭
So many things have happened in my life and I wore mask after mask so that I could appear ‘okay’. 👌
That’s fine in the short term but any longer and we can lose our sense of self.
Domestic abuse, trauma, bullying, lacking confidence, imposter syndrome, feeling worthless, indifferent parenting…they all leave their mark. 😢
I’ve spent years ‘recovering’ and want to help short cut the journey for others - to help everyone (but women particularly), see their worth, find their inner goddess/hero and free themselves to be the wonderful, amazing individuals that they are.
You can choose coaching, hypnotherapy or both to get to where you want to be. All you need to do is reach out…I’ve got you.

Getting out in nature is good for the soul but sometimes things don’t go to plan.
Cooper and I went for a walk, I love being near the water, in the fresh air, so does Cooper. But today it was positively BALTIC 🥶. Stayed as long as my ears could stand it without slipping into frostbite😂. Sometimes you have to rethink your plans. Quick chase of the ball at the park then cosies on the sofa I think. Tomorrow’s another day 😃

I saw this quote and it resonated. We all need to get better at believing we are enough. 🌻Sometimes our life experience can impact our self belief and self worth and we need a little help off loading the baggage given by others. 🎒🧳
I use Hypnotherapy and NLP to create a safe place to help people be and see who they really are. 🪞
We look after our families, homes, cars but don’t always look after our mind, thoughts and beliefs, subtle changes happen without us realising it. We can just be left with fears that we’re not good enough, don’t deserve the best, are not as good as XY or Z. This kind of thought process and way of being is exhausting but it doesn’t have to be that way.

As the sun sets on another day - January is almost over.

For long term change we need to break unhelpful thought patterns and forge new healthy patterns. 😊💕
