My Running Story - By Coz
Hi I'm Coz and this is a page for me to document any running programmes or events I take part in. I don't class myself as a natural runner, but do my best.
Hopefully the page will be a safe place for people to share their stories and motivate others.
Turns out my cold flu thing is covid..... Back to square one with the running again π
So after having a couple of weeks off running due to busy work commitments, the plan was to get back out there today. Unfortunately the body had other ideas and struck my down with a cold/flu thing!! So annoying π
Struggling to get out in the week due to work, but determined to get out at the weekend. Still couldn't find my flow, but better than last week...

Thank you to Red Chilli Gold for an amazing meal and making my Birthday so special..... If you are having problems getting through to order a takeaway or book a table, tryπ±07720 889562 or 07535351877. They are having phoneline issues π
Today was another donation day in Buckingham..... Lovely staff who consider your own quirks.... I have a good vein at an awkward angle (left handed nurses struggle). Snacks a plenty before and after donation. Ended up with the nurse that took my first donation π... Thank you. Please consider giving, you never know, you might need the help π

10k Runner: Week 7 Day 1. The last 2 Sundays have been horrible runs, but I'm glad to say today's 20min run, was the best one in a while πͺ. Never let a difficult run put you off.... Never expect 2 runs to feel the same. So many different things can impact a run, the trick is to find what works for you π
Same run at Sunday only betterπ
Need to bulk up and take in the calories?? Why not try a Tunnocks teacake cheesecake π. Bourbon biscuit base, layered with Tunnocks teacakes, topped with a vanilla cheesecake topping
Today definitely wasn't one of my better runs..... The body didn't want to know. Still kept going and saw it through though π
10k Runner Week 6 - Corrinna M's 3.8 km run Day2: Well that was horrible.... The body really wasn't interested in moving quicker than a standard walk. I didn't give up though and kept trying to get comfortable pace.... Will try again on my next run. πͺ
Started week 6 of 10k Runner today. Didn't want to get up, didn't want to go out..... But did and got it done. Would have hated myself if I had not achieved my goal
Week 5 Done. Thought after Sunday's 'difficult' run, that today would be impossible...... Apparently not πͺ. Let's see what Week 6 brings π
10k Runner Week 5 Done!! - Corrinna M's 3.6 km run Day 3: two 8min runs completed. Much better run than Sunday. Week 6 here we come πͺ
So even though I was on hollibobs, I still managed to get my run done πͺ...... Although it was a bit hilly!!
10k Runner Week 5 - Corrinna M's 3.8 km run Day 2: tough one today.... The A30 felt like Stowe Ave on steroids. Very up and down π₯΅
That's my vote done.... Let's see what happens
Week 4 Done! One run longer than it should have been (due to accidentally repeating one π). Bring on week 5 where it will start ramping up with the run intervals and less walking
10k Runner Week 4 Done!! - Corrinna M's 3.9 km run Day 3: Tough first half easier aecond π
I got the right session today..... Didn't want to go out, hated the first interval, but the two 5min intervals went better than expected π. Finished the last interval strong, so happy with that
Made the error of setting the wrong run today.... Not sure how π€. This meant repeating WK4D1, but that's OK as I got to see a Muncjac deer π
10k Runner Week 3 Done!! πͺ. Really enjoying the programme so far. Good variation in the interval run times allowing you to comfortably improve your pace along the way π
10K Runner Wk2 done πͺ. Completed day 1 of the squat challenge too π. Wasn't really up for getting out, but went anyway and smashed it
Not been out all week, but got back on it today πͺ. Slightly slower that last Sunday, but did manage a 4:59min/K 200m sprint at the end..... Off for a sports massage now π
Week 1 of 10k runner done!! I thought today was a slower run as the legs felt really heavy..... But it turns out I was significantly quicker that Wednesday πͺ
10K Runner Week 1 Day 2: Starting my warm up walk and I heard a little voice 'I like those.... I really like those leggings' It was a little girl with her dad commenting on my bumblebees π. Little comments like that can make your run so much easier π
New programme (0 to 10k), new app (Fitness 22) and new pace even. Very pleased with my session today. Worked hard on technique and pace improved considerably (5:44/k for one segmentπͺ) .
It's sometimes easy to keep pushing yourself and get frustrated when you don't improve...... Resting is just as important. Since my graduation last Sunday, I have taken a rest from running, but still been exercising doing the garden..... Tomorrow starts a new chapter of the 14 week 10k programme, but for now I'm taking a leaf out of Daisy-Mae's book (below) and chilling π
After a rough year last year and a car accident in Nov 23 destroying my fitness levels, today was my first race in 2 years, and first ever 5k race..... Graduation of and finished bang on the time I hoped. Well done to for such a fun relaxed first (after a 4year break) of many . A truly family friendly fully inclusive event. Thank you Lucy Locket Loves for the fantastic comfortable leggings π
Day 2..... Last run before graduation and my first race in 2 years on Sunday π±
Week 8 Done!! β€οΈ. Wanted to take a walking break at 10mins, 17mins and 20-28mins!!π..... But the pig headiness in me kept me going (I knew I would be really annoyed if I stopped). One week to go until graduation and the Decathlon Teardrop Lakes 5k π
Week 8 Day 1. Got a bit of a stressy scary day today, so thinking things through in my head definitely took my mind off my choo choo train breathing π
Definitely something going on in the skies!! Don't usually get this purple hue in pics taken at night
Week 7, Day 2: I actually ran for 25 mins today, at a pace slightly quicker than I have been πͺ. Did I want to stop after 5mins? Yep, especially after going past the grass cutting on the field π€§ The last time I managed to run continously for 25mins must have been at least two years ago. Still a way to go (and some weight to lose) before feeling I'm back to feeling fit..... But every little win is progress
