A healthy place to pause
A supportive place to pause and breathe 🧘♂️, reflect, share, support and encourage ☀️🌷🌻
One of my must do occupations (most people use the word “activities”, but I’m an Occupational Therapist so do this a little bit differently 😜) is to get outside every day.
I am grateful that I live in a beautiful place in the countryside. I can walk from my doorstep to hills, woods, fields. I can see cows almost in my back garden all summer.
I choose to get outside every day to replenish and restore myself.
I love this time of year when everything seems to becoming , just more. More vibrant, greener, more alive.
Seeing these bluebells made me smile.
What is the thing that you do every day to nourish yourself?
Still waiting for more sun than rain but the sunset cheered me up whilst walking the doggos!
What if there were a supportive place to pause? A place to acknowledge the challenges that we deal with in our daily lives, to share our stories and to help each other.
I'm Lisa, and I'm an Occupational Therapist and health coach and I have a special interest in helping those with long-term and chronic health conditions to feel more able to take control of their health and well-being. My nearly 30 years of clinical experience has enabled me to work with so many people, with a whole range of health conditions. My health coach training helps me to blend approaches to create a bespoke package that I will continue to develop with time. I firmly believe that we all have the ability to be the best version of ourselves - whatever that means for each of us. For some, taking action to better support their health conditions to enable more effective symptom management is the priority - that's where I can help.
I also care deeply about those with challenging care responsibilities and want to create a supportive and healthy place to help others to pause, recharge and develop self-care to enable their own care-giving to continue.
I have experienced challenges myself of trying to do my best to help a loved one with severe mental health and subsequently complex physical issues, to have their care needs met. At the time, I worked in a demanding NHS role, with a young family and the situation felt difficult, unsupported outside of our immediate family, and so totally out of my control - even with my then 20 years of clinical experience. With some hindsight now I reflect upon this with self-kindness and acknowledge the frustration that the situation created. Although I can no longer help my loved one, I can help others going through the same to hold their space. I can combine my health coaching and my occupational therapy expertise to help you to support your own health needs.

We will encourage you to make moves towards the balanced and meaningful life that you seek.
