PLEASE CAN I ASK YOU TO SHARE: NTIA
"Following the establishment of the APPG for Night Time Economy, the Night Time Industries Association have been asked by the APPG Chairperson Jeff Smith MP to distribute a survey which will contribute to a larger report being released in February 2021 to parliamentarians and the House of Commons. Please can I ask you to distribute this across your networks in support.
We already have over 5000 responses from the survey which will go a long way to substantiating further support for the sector, and galvanise public opinion.
WE URGE THE NIGHT TIME ECONOMY SECTOR TO FIND ITS VOICE : Newly Formed APPG for the Night Time Economy has launched an inquiry into the devastating impact of Covid-19 - We have an opportunity through this Industry Survey to present evidence to parliamentarians in support of the Night Time Economy. It takes 5 Mins of your time and will make a huge difference for the future of the sector! Survey Link : https://www.ntia.co.uk/appg/
Thank you again for taking the time to support"

Skiddle
It’s been a tough year for lots of people and it’s certainly no exception at Skiddle. The Covid-19 pandemic has decimated the industry and not only brought our income (which is 98% ticket sales) to a complete halt, but in fact reversed as we have refunded many millions of pounds back to our fantastic customers. We are currently operating at a maximum of 15% of our usual income.
At present, there are no clear signs of a recovery for the industry. We absolutely enthuse at people’s risk in organising normal events for 2021 and it’s amazing to see customers support these events with advanced purchases. Across the country, there is a smattering of socially distanced events taking place which are keeping the music alive but we are still a long way from normal. Unfortunately, we have had to lose around 20 fantastic members of staff, we have closed 1 of our offices. We’ve tried to laugh, we’ve definitely cried, we are tired and a little bit broken.
Yet we are still here. More importantly, the majority of the industry still is as well. Sadly we are aware of some casualties, many financial ones but unfortunately some physical ones as well, with the news that some of the people we work with have been unable to face the challenge ahead and taken their own lives as the only answer. We are very, very sorry to hear this.
When the Cultural Recovery Fund was announced, Skiddle took the decision not to apply, as we frankly did not fit the criteria as a cultural venue or host live events. We felt, and STILL feel that the money was best distributed to the many thousands of amazing venues, promoters, and arts organisations across the country that frankly, without you - Skiddle would be nothing.
Imagine our sheer disgust then when the lists are published of who received grants, and amongst the many great people that received money, we see companies like Resident Advisor (a website that writes music reviews of events across the world) receiving VAST sums of money - whilst at the same time some of the best venues and event creators in the country/the world were not successful as they “Didn’t fit the bill”.

Today we're joining the RED ALERT march.
The UK live sector is worth £100bn and employs 1m people - but could soon collapse without immediate government support.
This directly effects the gigs, concerts, clubs and festivals we all love.

"Many face bankruptcy, which is why they’re working so hard to reschedule."

It's with a sad heart I'm having to say this the council fire and police have been to the venue we where working with for March. They have basically handed them an impossible list of jobs to be done not just the floor we are using which has already been done but every floor in the mill has to be done new fire system the fire escapes have to be covered a lot of work £45000 ish. Now these guys have spent and done and worked hard to provide a safe space but the powers that be have shut them anyway unfortunately we have seen this time and time again. So get used to partying in a clean safe polished sterile environment with no soul or room for artistic creativity sorry and we will carry on looking. Peace love and obviously not having fun coz the k**b heads in control got bullied and used at private school and brain washed set of leave it at that think you get the point
