What a little star she’s been so far! My first homebred Nancy having her first trot under saddle today. It’s been a bit stop start as I’ve had to prioritise client horses and the ones for sale/competing but straight on after 3 days off and she didn’t put a foot wrong 🤩

Today Doris left for her new home! Massive thank you to Rachel for letting me borrow her for the last 7 months. Best of luck to her new owners, I’m sure you’ll have loads of fun 🥰

Busy with starting lots of youngsters at the moment. We have a right range from 12h up! At least we have something to keep us busy while the lorry is off the road. Hopefully we can get back out soon!

But in the meantime it’s all about the youngsters

Been a while since I’ve had a pony in! Deio who’s in for backing, making lots of progress in his first week.
Its been one of those weeks here broken lorry means no outings for our own horses and a broken tractor meant we couldn’t make this most of the weather with harrowing but we’ve been super busy with client horses in for backing and selling, horses off to their new homes and some yard maintenance caught up on ☀️

We have the following horses looking for new homes -

Maverick 6yo 16h chestnut Belgium sport horse gelding bloodlines include Ramiro and Major de La cour. Super temperament, lovely to handle, still fairly novice under saddle but very willing with a great attitude. Going nicely on the flat for his level of education and has popped round fences sweetly and hacking out nicely in company. He however would not pass a vetting due to the conformation on his hind foot hence price. He is a super sweet horse with plenty of ability for someone on a small budget. Low 4 figures

Garf 17h 12yo KWPN, bloodlines include those of Libero H etc. Garf is gentleman on the flat, rides light and responsive for a big horse. He has an impressive jump with plenty of scope. Has done unaffiliated SJ, XC, fun rides with his owner where he has been for the last 5 years. Would easily do BS/BE or even maybe make a hunter. Hacks out. He did have some time off last year due to injury but he has been in full work a while now and is feeling on great form but for that reason is available at a reduced price. Only looking for a new home as his owner is lacking in time. Quality big horse for someone who doesn’t have a huge budget. Currently lower end of mid to high 4 figures

Doris 15.2h Welsh part bred 15yo mare by Derwen railway express. Lines include Nebo black magic on the sireline and TB blood on her damline. Doris is a super fun mare, she’s been with me since October (she was only supposed to be borrowed for a team chance and ended up staying!) Unfortunately due to a change in her owners circumstances after being with her a long time she’s looking for her new home. She’s beautifully schooled on the flat and great over a fence. Hacks out well. She’s done pretty much everything - Unaff SJ, dressage, hunter trials, riding club, evening, team chasing and recently BS. She will quite literally will turn her hoof to anything. Super to box, clip, shoe etc. Only a long term loving home wanted for this super mare. High 4 figures including tack and wardrobe.

So grateful for Katie Short this week. Down with a sickness bug and she’s managed to keep everything in work as well as her usual job exercising racehorses. It’s actually so nice to watch the horses work and see how they’re going from a different perspective.
Especially pleased with my Casal mare Lizzie, she’s riding lovley on the flat and here she is having her first jump back after Xmas holidays. It’s been a slow job with her as she is dinosaur sized but I really do like her! 🤩

So nice to have it dry! The jumpers all back in work after their Christmas holidays and on week 2 of hacking. Meanwhile the youngsters coming along nicely. Katie Short doing an excellent job with rising 6yo Mav, schooling in the sunset this evening 🌅 He will be looking for a new home soon so if your interested PM for details.

After passing her vetting yesterday in very questionable weather conditions (she behaved impeccably even the vet staff wanted her!) The lovely Elle headed off for her new home this morning, she was definitely a favourite! Best of luck with her Helen 🥰

Lovley pony who’s been in for schooling this week to try and find her forward gears in the school as she preferred a leisurely pace. She certainly seems to have found her gears and has a great little pop in her too, look at that 🔙🔚

Video day of our yearling colts and couldn’t be more pleased with them 🤩 and both behaved impeccably to brush, plait and trot up 🌟

Great time at the vale show on Wednesday! First county show for horses and riders and they didn’t disappoint all places in the money 🤩 Fred gaining his last discovery clear with a 5th, he’s jumped all 4 of his cleats in a row! Nell and Katie jumped a super clear for 4th in the discovery and lex for a 5th in the 1m!

They also jumped great last week at prestige with Rupert jumping a much more consistent round in the BN, and Katie with Annabelle’s Apollo who took a new venue all in his stride. Katie and Nell 1st 🥇 discovery with Fred a close 2nd 🥈! Then lex jumping a lovley 1m clear (well from him anyway as Katie circled as she forgot her way 😂)

So nice to have had a little more time to do a bit with my dinosaur ’Lizzie’ 🤩 We’ve taken things rather slow and will continue to do so as she’s still rather large and gangly but she can certainly leave the floor!

Elle - just a pole for miss super consistent which was completely rider error, she’s really jumping and feeling so ready to start stepping up the levels

Nell - Katie is doing a super job with this sharp little mare, just a novice pole but the little horse has so much talent

Cedric - starting to understand how to ride him which resulted in him jumping a super clear placing 5th

Lex - Expertly piloted by Katie to jump a speedy clear in the young riders to place 2nd

Fred - Never felt better, all the time and patience feels like it’s starting to pay off. He jumped fantastic in his first 1.10 for a couple of novice mistakes 🤩
