🧀 THE ONLY NACHO RECIPE YOU'LL EVER NEED 🧀
You said you wanted it, so here it is! 🤤
I have been making the sauce for these Nachos for years, it's from cookbook and I have used it to bake the best loaded Nachos going. Seriously, ask anyone who has had them, they always empty the dish and request them again! 👏🏻
It's creamy, crunchy, cheesy goodness with an earthy hit of turmeric- basically, it's perfection! 🤩
I would also highly recommend getting the entire book as I have never made a bad dish from it! Some of the recipes require a lot but the sauces are simple and always hit right! 👩🏻🍳
I will drop a tag in the comments to any of you who said you wanted the receipe, so feel free to save for later & let me know how you get on! 💬

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Clare from . A Dishoom allum, Clare has now stepped out on her own as a Brand & Marketing Consultant and is already working with some amazing clients in hospitality and food. Her feed is scattered with gorgeous shots so do go check her out! Clare has a personal relationship with Wood Street Coffee so gave me a tour and run down to start our session, she also got me trying coffee – UNHEARD OF!
📍 LOCATION:
Wood Street Coffee is tucked away in a unit of a business park in Saffron Walden but is less than a 20 min walk from the town centre and a perfect quiet corner to escape, enjoy a brew and get some work done.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Offering a small workspace with free WIFI and a couple of plugs, there is a small bench table for you to work from whilst you enjoy your drink.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: The roastery is lovely and quiet and the smell is amazing.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: It’s an obvious one here…get yourself a coffee (or a hot chocolate!) but if I can be converted on their coffee – anyone can.
✏️ WHEN TO GO: Head to Wood St if you are local and looking to escape your usual working environment for an hour.
I will say it one last time (for the cheap seats in the back!) if tells you to go somewhere, just do it! 💛
Lunch at .uk on Sunday was just said back, summer seaside perfection! Everything caught that morning & served with gorgeous Lychee Martinis! 🥂
Add it to your list NOW, thank April later! 🦐

I met the lovely Claire from Studio Sante Design at her favourite haunt for working on a Monday morning. I have followed Claire on social media for a couple of years and she is a fellow foodie and Cambridge lover too, so we always have plenty to talk about.
📍 LOCATION:
We met at Gail’s, I joined Claire during a typical Monday morning for her. Gail’s is centrally located in Cambridge, just outside of the Grafton Centre, perfect if you have errands to run before or after visiting.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Gail’s offers free wifi and seats tables as small as 2 and as large as 6. It is a walk-in only café but has plenty of seating and lots of space.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Gail’s is light, airy & relatively quiet. Service is countertop only and pleasant. The layout means you can tuck yourself away easily.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I went small and only ordered a chocolate babka with a chai latte – both lovely. The counter selection was extensive though! You are very much spoiled for choice here!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: Head to Gail’s if you want a quiet morning central to Cambridge with plenty of choice of baked goods.
If like me, you are currently dragging yourself through Monday kicking & screaming. STOP! Take a little moment to swipe though the dreamy scene that is .cafe & pretend it’s still last Friday, the sun is still shining & the long weekend is still here! 🌞
Better still, if you can, head over there and find refuge from this miserable Monday ☔️

I met the wonderful Kelly from for brunch. Kelly is in her 3rd year with Happy Communications and is absolutely smashing it. I have admired Kelly via social media for a while but meeting her and discussing goals left me so refreshed and joyful. She is true to her company name!
📍 LOCATION:
We met at Stir in Histon. A short drive out of
Cambridge, with some street parking out front & further parking walking distance away.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Stir is walk-in only, with tables as large as 4 and a wonderful high seated window area. They also have plugs and Wi-Fi for customer use.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Stir is bustling and busy without feeling overcrowded. The is enough space to tuck yourself away without being disturbed. The staff are all attentive, knowledgable and friendly so you feel relaxed and right at home.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I ordered eggs royale which was delicious! The chai latte is also a winner.
✏️ WHEN TO GO: Head to Stir for brunch / lunch, take your laptop along to enjoy a coffee and finish up a project after you’ve eaten.
We finally used our wedding gift from our very thoughtful friends and had dinner and a night at - it was such a special evening, with lots of new flavours and plates we wouldn’t usually try and some new ingredients we will be tracking down at home! 🌿
I left the big camera at home to relax and enjoy but here are some quick iphone snaps for your viewing pleasure! 📸
Everything is grown and produced at the farm so the menu is created seasonally so the food is fresh and packed with flavour! 🐽

📍 LOCATION:
We met at Revive which is tucked into the corner of the ground floor of Fresh, a beautiful fitness studio focusing on improving your mental wellbeing as well as physical fitness.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Moments from the town centre, less than a 10 min walk from Ely train station, and on Forehill Car Park it couldn’t be easier to access. You get free wifi, and tables of varying design are set up for 4 people.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Revive is the perfect addition to Fresh, not only in décor, but in ethos. Entirely plant based and set up for either getting comfy and working, meeting a friend or just a post workout treat, it’s a boho haven on the ground floor! The café is lovely and quiet, set up by two best friends & it shows because you feel instantly at home here.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: We went in directly after a bank holiday weekend so missed out the usual amount of bakes. Everything is plant based and I indulged in a slice of chocolate cake, it was DELICIOUS! I also had a tea with vanilla soy, which I loved so much that I decided to try it at home (it was far less successful!) I’m told that they are hoping to add smoothies to the menu in the future, which I would be very keen to try!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: Head over to Revive for a morning to get work done in peace or tie it in with a FRESH class before or after! You can leave feeling great on all levels!

Holly is a girl after my own heart; a lover of good food (& coffee, but sorry, I still can’t drink coffee!) & all things Cambridge! One of my favourite parts of our conversation was learning that Holly is where she is today because she took a chance & reached out. Take note, if you’ve been thinking for a while of doing something, take the chance!
📍 LOCATION:
We met at the beautiful River Terrace in St Ives. Taken over by 6 years ago and transformed from a small tearoom to a trendy brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks spot, that is a must visit if you are in the area!
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Set on the river in St Ives, you can easily get a bus from Cambridge or drive. Parking is £1 for the day just over the bridge, less than 2-minute walk away! You can pre-book online to secure your table too. There are a couple of plug points and you can get onto a local WIFI connection, but this is more of a meet and eat location rather than a set up and work!
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Inside, you’ll find cosy tables of varying sizes, some with window seats to watch the world go by, but outside... outside is where this place truly shines! The terrace overlooks the river, and I am told the sunsets are gorgeous! The staff here are all super friendly and helpful, it’s a place that makes you feel instantly relaxed and at ease!
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I ordered a chai latte – delightful! The coffee is my husband’s favourite () and I also ordered the special of the day, Pastrami Benedict! Its as marvellous as it sounds and looks! So much so that I am dying to go back and try more dishes!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: This is a place to switch off rather than switch on. Get yourself here to take a break in your day or to end your day / start your weekend! Soak in the views or tuck up by a window! Enjoy!

👋🏻 WITH:
I met my good friend Jess from Social Media Enrichment again for another coworking session and update. Jess is currently working really hard on content creation and business development, its all getting very exciting so go check her out!
📍 LOCATION:
is further out from Cambridge sitting past Huntingdon. Its one you need to get in the car for (unless you’re local) but a great location on the ever developing site of Alconbury Weald. Its inside an old WW2 bunker so very cool and exciting to check out!
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: There is parking next to the site and easy access into the building, free wifi and tables of 4 (which can be made bigger). No bookings are currently taken so its walk in only.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: When it fills up, then gets louder in the café, but during the morning & after lunch is a great, quiet spot to work and not too crammed. The service is friendly without being over imposing too.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: Brisket Benedict – done. Incredible! The photo speaks for itself, the first bite is with the eyes people! The pulled beef is so sweet and just works perfectly.
✏️ WHEN TO GO: I would recommend Bohemia for a morning or afternoons work with lunch tacked on at the end or beginning. It’s a bit of a drive out but worth a trip if you are that way!

I met Cambridge Foodie Royalty, Grace of for some coworking and great conversation this week! Grace is an OG on the Cambridge food scene and is passionate about promoting good food from the best indies the city has to offer! She also makes me laugh both on and offline!
📍 LOCATION:
After much deliberation and thought, we decided to meet at The Sage of Cambridge inside The Fellows House. Its located just on the outskirts of Cambridge (North) and is about a 20-minute walk from the centre. There is a carpark on site for £2 an hour if you’re driving.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: The Sage is perhaps the best equipped place that I have worked from so far! Loads of plug points and free wifi to start, there are also small tables, one large communal table in the middle and window seats, allowing a variety of workspaces and group sizes.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: The room is beautiful, mostly glass with sheer curtains so is lovely and airy as well as quiet with only low level, calm music playing in the background. The hotel has a very upmarket & business-like feel to it making it a great professional environment or somewhere to go and feel a bit extra!
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I have eaten at The Fellows House before and really do rate it as a place to go, however, the flatbread that I ordered for lunch was not for me. They offer a range of pastries & I would be interested to try the breakfast menu too as it looked really good!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: The Sage is perfect for formal meet-ups, remote working and co-working alike and I would highly recommend it if you want some time away from your usual set up! You could easily spend a day here!

Having myself a little proud moment over here!
I started documenting my food over on Instagram over 5 years ago as a hobby. From that I have learned so much about food, hospitality and photography as well as connecting with so many people from fellow foodies, bloggers, chefs, small business owners and marketing professionals!
I feel so lucky to be turning this into my career and features like today’s in Velvet Magazine give me a little pang of excitement of how far I have come since showing off a few meals right at the start!

👋🏻 WITH:
I spent a glorious sunny morning with Jade from Elevate PA. Jade has been working for herself & building her business for 8 years & is such a breath of fresh air. Full of positivity, friendly & professional all rolled into one! It was so lovely to finally meet in person & to hear about her experiences as a PA as well as sharing some stories from my past life!
📍 LOCATION:
Blink & you’ll miss it! The Grey House is tucked away in Hemingford Grey just outside of St. Ives. You’ll need to drive (or walk /cycle if close enough) & keep an eye out for the sign as its hidden down a small side road. Once you are there though, its beautiful! Set beside the river its perfect for up-and-coming Spring/Summer meet ups!
🔧 PRACTICALITIES:
For such a new venture, it’s so well set up already! They currently take walk-ins only but have free wifi, plugs by the windows, tables for 2 – 6 inside & outdoor seating by the river. There are a couple of cosy seats for comfort & high chairs for gazing out the window on cooler days.
💫 ATMOSPHERE:
The music made my day! In the corner is an old record player and from the speakers you’ll hear a mix of 80’s & 90’s classics! Just loud enough to enjoy, but quiet enough to talk or get on with your work. We arrived at 10.30am & people came & went meaning noise levels varied, but there wasn’t any issues & Jade even took a phone call.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER:
I went HARD here! Cheese Toastie to start courtesy of Rennet & Rind, which was old school nostalgic, then, of course what you make the pilgrimage for... GNAWTY BITES BAKES! Need I say anymore? Sian is a baking legend & should be hailed as such! The Chai Latte was also great & Jade, who is a fussy woman with coffee, gave it her seal of approval!
✏️ WHEN TO GO:
You could literally come here during the day for any reason, just make one! Work, meet, chat, brunch, lunch, just get yourself over to Hemingford!
In lieu of MEET. EAT. WORK this week, I am going to share my food highlights from Lisbon which will then go into a handy guide! 🇵🇹
Starting off with this STUNNING cod courtesy of in Belém. SUD was VERY upmarket and we were severely under dressed but it’s set on the seafront and very special! This dish was served with mash, asparagus and a clam sauce! It was perfectly creamy and light and the fish was so damn fresh! 🎣

Bould Brothers Coffee

👋🏻 WITH:
I first discovered Pina of One Two Culinary Stew fame in 2020 & quickly connected with her over a love of food, hospitality & Cambridge! She is an awesome person with so much passion for experiences & sharing! We got together to eat, catch up & practice with the ‘big camera’ – which then turned into sound boarding what’s next for both One Two Culinary Stew & Sammi’s Kitchen!
📍 LOCATION:
This branch of Bould Brothers is located on Regents Street. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the bus station & town centre & a 15-minute walk from the train station. The closest car park is Queen Anne which is a 5-minute walk away. There are 3 types of seating including window seats, tables of varied sizes & a large 6-seater table through an archway, to the back of the café.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: It is walk in only & no WIFI available so this location would be better suited to casual meetings or projects that do not require the use of the internet (unless you have a hotspot or dongle!)
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Bould Brothers is very modern and chic in terms of décor. Whilst Regent Street is the larger of 2 locations, it’s still not huge so there is a busy feel to it. We sat at the large table at the back which we shared with others & this was much quieter. The service is behind the counter only, but everyone was friendly & helpful!
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: Full disclosure…neither of us ordered coffee, so again, I have failed on the coffee quality front! I do have it on very good authority from friends that Bould Brothers is their favourite coffee in Cambridge though! Pina & I both went for a hot chocolate which was delightful! They also had the choice of milk, dark and white! Food-wise they serve baked goods at the counter & my almond croissant was perfection!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: I would recommend Bould Brothers for casual meetings & breakfast! I would not go here if I needed to concentrate but more if I needed a break! It’s a gorgeous shop, with great food & drink in a good location!
Go on ahead and SWIPE for the most beautiful of stacks, the most parmesan-y of fries, the crumbliest of milkshake toppings, and the most colourful underground burger joint going! Butch Annies - I love ya! 🤤

👋🏻 WITH:
Talking about meeting on International Woman’s Day week is so satisfyingly serendipitous! I first reached out to her in 2020, when I wanted to start freelancing & she has been an amazing mentor & cheerleader ever since! Krish is an extremely talented Branding & SquareSpace Designer as well as an inspiring businesswoman, entering a very exciting time in her journey. If you don’t already, go follow her updates & design inspo!
📍 LOCATION:
(Dales Brewery) is situated off the super trendy & bustling Mill Road. It sits opposite Gwyndir St car park, is a 5-10 min walk from Queen Anne car park, a 15 min walk from Drummer Street & a 10 min walk from the Station. The building is impressive in itself & gets you excited before you even set foot in the door!
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: No booking is needed; you can just walk in & grab a table. There is free WIFI available, plenty of space & table options, comfy chairs as you enter, high window seats, large benches & smaller bistro tables.
💫 ATMOSPHERE: It was cosier than I expected inside, I arrived at 10am & it got busy quickly. This surprisingly did not create a loud environment as many people were also there with laptops working or having quiet conversations. We were able to meet & work comfortably.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I ordered Bacon Maple Pancakes & let me tell you…this has been my favourite dish so far! I want to go back every week(day) & have it please! So perfectly sweet & salted & the pancakes were so damn light & fluffy! Secondly…they also served the best Chai Latte I have had in AGES! f you like your Chai Lattes sweet & warming, look no further!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: I would recommend Hot Numbers for a casual meeting or lunch. If you want to escape your desk, you could go alone & not feel alone. If you are looking for privacy or a quiet corner, this may not be for you, but no one will judge you for just going for the food, in fact, I insist on it!
The cheesiest profile photo to ever exist…? 🧀
I attempted to take some photos of myself last week for website, social media etc. It’s safe to say that despite the forced smile here, I did not enjoy it and will be saving for a proper brand photographer to give me a hand when I can!
On a more serious note, I am heavily behind on content creation this week & ran into a slight complication on my plan for this week’s location - so stay tuned next week for the next instalment of MEET. EAT. WORK!
I did however have a lovely lunch meet with Raj from .studio yesterday! Raj, thank you for your words of wisdom and continued support!! It was great to finally meet in person! SWIPE for a sneaky shot of Raj in action!
If there is one thing I have really enjoyed since “taking the leap” it is the other creatives, freelancers and business owners I have had the pleasure of working with and meeting! I can’t wait to meet more of you!

👋🏻 WITH:
I had the pleasure of spending the morning with my friend Elisha aka. .eats! Elisha is a talented Copywriter & blogger with her own food column in Cambridge Edition. She is a passionate foodie, baker and amazing photographer too!
📍 LOCATION:
The Cherry Tree is in the beautiful village of Haddenham, which sits North East of Cambridge. It’s about a 35 minute drive from Cambridge & 15 minutes from Ely. Easily accessible by car it has a gravelled car park and street parking if you struggle on gravel. They have plenty of outdoor seating in the garden, a mixture of tables inside and even a play area for children. It’s also dog friendly!
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: You can book tables online via the website or grab a seat on arrival (depending on availability) We arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning and were able to chose where we sat, but by 11am, tables were busy. Wifi is available on request and connectivity was great!
💫 ATMOSPHERE: It’s no secret that I love The Cherry Tree. It is a family owned location and it shines through in every detail. Every team member is friendly, helpful and welcoming. They cannot do enough to help.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: We ordered Eggs Benedict & the Loaded Breakfast Bagel, if you want a meal - GO HUNGRY! There is always a well stocked cake selection at the bar to chose from too! Guinness Cake is always a winner! Their premium hot chocolate is also DIVINE!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: I will never stop shouting about these guys! To work, go for a quiet table, the window seats are perfect. For meetings, or larger coworking groups, there is a beautiful large table just in the entrance that would be perfect! Due to it being such a great and popular local spot, it can get louder but the layout allows for a variety of corners and spaces to tuck yourself away in. The child’s play area is in it’s own space, which is great for those working with and without children alike!

Espresso Library 🚲
I am working my way (literally) around spaces in & around Cambridge with fellow freelancers, bloggers & friends that work from home. This is the start of my guide to spaces & places for remote working - Cambridge Edition!
👋🏻 WITH:
Kicking things off, I met my good friend & fellow newbie freelancer, Jess aka. Social Media Enrichment . Jess is a Social Media & Web Manager offering her services to local small businesses & start ups!
📍 LOCATION:
Espresso Library is about a 5 minute walk from Drummer Street Bus Station & a 2 minute walk from Queen Anne Car Park. It boasts plenty of seating options from outdoor benches, window high seats & tables for 2 -6 people. It even has a sofa area as you walk in for somewhere comfier to meet & talk.
🔧 PRACTICALITIES: Tables can be booked online easily through but there were plenty of spaces available when we arrived at 11.30am through to when we left at 2.30pm. There is no wifi so be ready with your mobile data or dongle!
💫 ATMOSPHERE: Espresso Library has a great balance between feeling buzzing, yet relaxing. Outside of lunch it was much quieter & you could easily work here with headphones, or without if you like a little background noise. The staff were all friendly, attentive & helpful, without being harassing. We were given a smaller table, which for the two of us proved a squeeze with laptops so I would recommend asking for a larger table if you are taking equipment with you.
🍽 WHAT TO ORDER: I went all out and ordered a Chai Latte, Hot Chocolate AND Fluffy Pancakes. The Chai Latte was teabag chai, but with sugar was fine. The hot chocolate was perfectly rich and not too sweet and the fluffy pancakes were exactly that! Topped with yoghurt, berries, almonds and honey - tasty and indulgent but light! I am told that Espresso Library serves some of the best coffee in Cambridge, neither of us drink coffee (sorry!) so you will have to go yourselves and try it!
✏️ WHEN TO GO: I would highly recommend Espresso Library for a casual meeting, breakfast, somewhere to escape the house for a coffee or to zone in and get a project completed!
I took a single photo this Christmas Day & it was of our evening table. I am just going to leave this here for your Boxing Day food hangovers! 🧀🍷
