🧘‍♀️Hatha yoga in Easter Term, every Wed 6:30pm, starting 8 May till term ends, in Old Kitchens.

A mix of slow vinyasa and restorative yoga poses. Sequence is curated with the help of relaxing music and a singing bowl to improve posture, circulation, cultivate mindfulness and positive thinking. All mats and props are provided. Just bring an open mind.

Yin (Fri Evenings): Suitable for complete beginners and regular yoga practitioners, the Yin Yoga course is a relaxing time to unwind and release tensions built up from the week through gentle movements, breathing and mindfulness techniques to cultivate self-appreciation, equanimity and loving-kindness.

Vinyasa (Sat morning): Suitable for those seeking an active dynamic class to get you sweating, the Vinyasa Yoga course starts the day with an invigorating sequence of sun salutations, strength and flexibility training all done in coordination with the breath, the gaze and the mind to improve stamina and positive thinking. Those with at least 1 month of yoga experience will particularly enjoy this course.

😊Hello everyone, Yoga at Girton is a new student's initiative that offers free weekly yoga classes taught by a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) for students and staff at college in Stanley Library/Old Hall. Beginners are welcome. No need to book. Just show up with your yoga mat and blocks (if needed). Please see the following schedule for details!

🙏More about the teacher: Jesse is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher accredited by Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance Professionals UK. She has taught yoga professionally to women from lower income groups, migrant workers, addiction-recovering communities and teenagers at various non-profit organisations. She is trained in Andiappan Yoga, a school founded by the late Guruji Dr Asana Andiappan from India. Andiappan treats yoga not as a sport but as a lifestyle, and focuses on the balance of yin and yang, energies already inherent in all of us, that a sequence merely channels. Join us this Saturday (11 Feb) for ‘Hatha—Sun ☀️and Moon🌙’ in Old Hall 9-10:30am. We will begin with power yoga that channels our Yang/Sun energies, then progress to Yin/Restorative for relaxation. You will be given step-by-step introduction to Vinyasa, Sun Salutation and other asanas that promote healthy spines and good posture. Tomorrow (Sat 28 Jan)'s class 'Detox' will take place from 9-10:30am in Old Hall. Sequence includes twisting asanas and bandhas that release toxins and tensions. It's beginner's level, so pace will be slow with more focus on alignment. No booking required–just walk in with your yoga mat and props (1-2 blocks, 1-2 towel) if necessary. See you there.

Hello, just a reminder that our first yoga class starts tomorrow 9-10:30am in Stanley Library. 🌙 Class theme will be Yin and Mindful Movements. 🍵Attention will be brought to soft and slow stretching and gentle pranayama (breathing techniques). You will leave feeling more in tune with your body and mind, mellow and refreshed. Beginners and advanced practitioners welcome.
