Over the last year, the chemistry team have been developing an improved sequence for teaching polymers and biochemistry at A Level. Their findings have just been published in the Teaching Times!
Simon Colebrooke says “This work has grown from a research project in conjunction with Anglia Ruskin University. We’ve appreciated the significance of size and relative scale as a barrier to students progressing in chemistry and we’re looking forward to using these new strategies with students this year.”
Zoe adds “we’re now much more aware of the challenges students face and are better placed to help them”.
Optimising Teaching Sequences In A-Level Chemistry - TeachingTimes The sequence in which a curriculum is taught can make a profound difference to students' ability to absorb it. Simon Colebrooke and Zoë Thorn present an example from teaching polymerisation in A-level chemistry.
