New research reveals that over half of Antarctic meltwater is slush.

๐ŸŒŸ To call alumnus Dr Lewis Owens (Queens' College, Cambridge 1996) a veteran volunteer is an understatement. He's been weaving together the threads of meaningful service since his days, working part-time as a carer to fund his PhD.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ We caught up with Lewis ahead of his charity walk from Addenbrookeโ€™s to the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (via all 31 Colleges!) to raise funds for the unit โ€” just the latest in his volunteering narrative...

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Meet Umaima Ahmad, former corporate lawyer and alumna, now co-founder and CEO of medtech startup, 52North. Her company has created Neutrocheckยฎ, a small, easy-to-use device and app that allows patients undergoing chemotherapy to test their own blood on the move if they feel unwell, potentially reducing the number of hospital visits.

๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ It allows patients to test themselves anywhere and then give their doctor the results over the phone. The doctor can then assess if you're at risk or not.
