Janazah and Burial Arrangements for Shaykh Fahim Khalil, rahmatullahi alayhi

Fahim's Janazah and Burial will take place on Sunday 21st July (15th Muharram).

Ordering of events:

1. Salatul Janazah at Cambridge Central Mosque (309-313 Mill Rd) Cambridge at 10am. The mosque will have to be cleared before 11am as there is a booking afterwards. The mosque have prayer facilities for women.

2. Private viewing for close family only between 11am and 12pm

3. Fahim will be taken from the mosque to his final resting place at 12pm

4. The burial will be conducted at Luton Vale Cemetery (The Vale, Butterfield Green Rd, Luton LU2 8DD) at 2pm. This will be men only.

The above has been organised around Fahim's wishes and his family's approval.

Eid Prayer is on Parker's Piece at 10am.

Eid-ul-Adha will be on Sunday 16th June insha'Allah. The Day of 'Arafah is therefore on Saturday 15th June.

All of the mosques in Cambridge have organised one Eid Prayer Jama'at on Parker's Piece at 10am for everyone to attend Alhamdulillah. We ask that you please arrive early as the field will be open from 9am and the prayer will start promptly without delay. Please do whudu at home and bring a prayer mat. Cycle, walk, or use public transport where possible.

Following the prayers there will be an Eid celebration gathering for all to attend and enjoy up until 5pm on Parkers Piece too.

For those who cannot join the main Jama'at on the park, there will be an additional Jama'at here at Omar Faruque Mosque at 11:00am. Remember to park legally without blocking anyone else or obstructing any of the surrounding businesses.

Join Us for a Charity Car Wash!

Cambridge Tigers FC is proud to host a Charity Car Wash and Fundraiser in support of Ramadan Family Commitment (RFC) and Omar Faruque Mosque on Sunday 7th April 2024 from 11am to 5pm here at the Masjid insha'Allah. RFC is a project which was initiated in 2007 by Channel S, as a scheme that enables donors to contribute to numerous charities with a single donation, which this year includes providing vital assistance to the needy in Gaza.

Alhamdulillah the first night of Taraweeh prayers are complete 🤲🏾

Alhamdulillah it has now been confirmed that the first Day of Ramadan will be on Monday 11th March insha'Allah.

The first Salat-ul-Taraweeh will be prayed at 9:45pm tonight, Sunday 10th March insha'Allah.

Tonight, Wednesday 7th Feb from Maghrib, we entered the auspicious night of the 27th of Rajab - Lailatul Isra wal Mi'raj.

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلاً مِّنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ البَصِيرُ

Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things).
(17:1 Qur'an)

The Janaza of Azizun Khanom, beloved mother of Aminul Islam & Nozrul Islam will be held at the Cambridge Central Mosque (309 mill road, Cambridge,CB1 3DF) straight after Zuhr prayer at 1:30pm today, Tuesday 27th of June, the blessed day of Arafah insha'Allah.

The burial will then be held at Cambridge Crematorium (Huntington Road, Cambridge CB3 0JJ).

Please make dua that Allah Almighty forgives her and grants her Jannahtul Firdous.

Following the prayers there will be an Eid celebration gathering on the adjacent field called Petersfield (opposite the swimming pool on Mill Rd) for all to attend and enjoy up until 6pm

For those who cannot join the main Jama'at on the park, there will be an additional Jama'at here at Omar Faruque Mosque at 10:30am. Remember to park legally without blocking anyone else or obstructing any of the surrounding businesses.

It is highly recommended for those who are not performing Hajj, to fast on the Day of 'Arafah (Tuesday) as the Prophet (saw) said, ’It (fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah) expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year’ (Muslim).

Today, we were proud to present cheques to representatives from each of the five mosques. We couldn't have achieved this without your support, and we hope to continue working together to build a stronger, more vibrant community.

It has now been confirmed that Eid will be on Friday 21st April.

There will be two Jama'ats at the mosque for Salat-ul-Eid and the times are detailed below. Please come early as the below are the start times and salah will start without delay insha'Allah. Please try and do wudhu at home and park legally without blocking anyone else or obstructing any of the surrounding businesses.

1st Jama'at Maulana Abdul Gani - 9.30am

2nd Jama'at Maulana Rayhan Gani - 10.30am

Tonight (Monday night) after maghrib will be the 27th night of Ramadan insha'Allah and we will be completing the Khatm of the Qur'an Insha'Allah during tonight's Taraweeh. Please join us for this truly auspicious occaision.

Although the blessed night of Laylatul Qadr can be found in any of the last 10 nights of Ramadan, it is the 27th that has been singled out as the most likely night. As such, we should increase our worship and devotion during the last days of Ramadan and in particular tonight, the 27th.

Aisha raḍyAllāhu 'anha (may Allāh be pleased with her) reported: With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work harder) and used to pray the whole night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers. [Bukhari]

Aisha raḍyAllāhu 'anha (may Allāh be pleased with her) reported: I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realise Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?” He ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) replied, “You should supplicate:
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).” [At-Tirmidhi].
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
