Good day competing at the Whitstable jubilee dog show today. Not competed myself in over a year so one of us had too π.
Henry did me proud 5th place in most handsome and a 1st in best condition then 3rd overall with best in show. He is also now a fully qualified dog π after passing dog school been a busy weekend for him.
If competing is something you do or are thinking about just have fun and enjoy it but also train really hard to aim for the win π

Pull ups. I have been asked on a few occasions how to do pullups and there is more to it then just these 3 videos but in these 3 videos you will see how the progression works and give you an idear on how to get there.
In video one you use the long pull down bar warm up then put it on a weight that is not impossible to move but would be very hard to move slowly so maybe try 50/60% of your body weight and unless your 265kg your find half your body weight on there.
Be explosive to try and build that muscle condition as that is what will get you your first few reps on the pullup bar.
In the second video I'm using a resistance band and a box to stand on this just makes it easier to loop the band around the bar and put my knee in the loop I have made. Different bands equal Different resistance and in this case more help to get you up.
I prefer to use bands as when the pullup is at its easiest point the resistance is then minimal unlike the pullup machine where assistance is constant even at the end and easiest part of the movement.
On the way down try and be aslow as possible to work the negative part of the movement.
In video 3 I am just showing you a full set of pull ups then bit of abbs at the end just because why not. Once you have got the hang of them they are one of the best body weight exercises you can do.

It has been a while since I have completed in any sport but I'm hoping to make a successful return this year.

I try to help them become more confidence with the weights by showing effective techniques while making it more enjoyable.
