First ever results day for EKC Canterbury Sixth Form - Canterbury College The Sixth Form lecturers welcomed learners into the College to receive their results, offer support on their progression, and celebrate their hard work and achievements.

"My dream is to be a journalist. In my English A Level I chose to do a journalism module, my tutor use to be a journalist which meant we had insider knowledge. This sparked my love for journalism, I find writing really interesting and like to find out all the gossip whilst reporting stories.

"I felt well supported throughout my time here and I'm much more resilient and confident now than I was when I started."

Ruby is chasing her dreams of becoming a journalist, by studying English Litereature with Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London. πŸ“š

She achieved grades of A*BA in Textiles, English Literature and Art, an incredible achievement. πŸ‘

"I have been accepted to UWE Bristol to study Architecture and Interior Design. I've always enjoyed art and wanted to use my skill in a practical way. I hope one day to become a successful Architect.

"The tutors here believed in me, I have come a long way since school."

Abbie studied A Levels Maths, Art and Graphics, taking her to The University of the West of England to study a course she is truly passionate about. πŸŽ‰

"I saw on UCAS that my offer changed to an unconditional offer in Criminology at both my first and second choice Uni. I am not sure what I would like to do as a career but I am interested in Law, Finance and maybe Teaching.

"Coming to college has really helped my confidence, I was so shy when I started but soon made friends. The tutors are really friendly and being on first name terms with them helps."

After studying A Level Politics, Criminology and Psychology, Ella is now going to the University of Kent to study Criminology or Classics. βš–πŸ“š

"I found out that the University of Kent has accepted me into their Law course without needing to do a foundation year, so I can get straight into it.

"Although I’m pursuing Law, I've really enjoyed studying other A Levels like Criminology and Business, which have boosted my confidence and prepared me well to start my degree."

Ellie is progressing to become a Mine Warfare Specialist in the Royal Navy, using new-found confidence and skills that they've picked up in Sixth Form. βš“

Chris loves to help people, and has therefore chosen a Social Work degree at Canterbury Christ Church University. They want to work as a social worker or in a school as a safeguarding lead. πŸ“š

"I'm heading to Bournemouth to study Psychology. It's a subject I'm passionate about and I hope one day to become a therapist, using my listening and caring nature.

"Sixth Form has been a great stepping stone to university. It provided a comfortable, happy environment where I could be truly myself, which has been invaluable.

"My advice for new students is to stay organised, and take time to discover your learning style. It makes a big difference in managing your studies. "

"I've always dreamed of becoming an archaeologist and I'm thrilled to be starting my journey this September at the University of Wi******er. Ever since I was younger, shows like Time Team have fuelled my passion for archaeology, so it's exciting to think that A Levels are behind me and I'm about to take my first step into that world.

"Sixth form has been an incredible experience, boosting my confidence, making me more sociable, and allowing me to thrive in a less formal learning environment."

"For anybody that wants to study A Levels, just remember to revise! Once you have had a lesson, go over it and make sure you have made lots of notes - you'll thank yourself later on.

"Once I have completed University I want a job in some form of Banking, thanks to College I am so much more confident and ready to take my next step. I was a Student Ambassador and that really helped me gain a lot of confidence through meeting new people."
