Douglas is helping to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support Welcome Break have been working with Macmillan for a year, and so far have raised £332,248.87 for the charity as part of our Welcome Break Charitable Fund in which for every £1 raised, 65p is donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. We’re incredibly proud to have raised this money and be able to support Macmillan Cancer Support, who help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.

Douglas is sold exclusively in our WHSmith stores from today. For every Macmillan Douglas Bear sold, 100% of the profits will be paid to Macmillan Cancer Support.

It's National Dog Day! 🐶

We offer outdoor areas where they can stretch their legs and well behaved dogs are welcome inside our buildings so you can use the restroom facilities and indoor seating areas. Yesterday Welcome Break Burtonwood celebrated it's 50th birthday, after opening in 1974 🥳 It was a day of celebrations, swipe to see photos from the day:

1. Welcome Break Burtonwood ready for the big day, with it's iconic 'Witches Hat' roof.
2. The team all dressed up in 70's outfits
3. We were joined by George (3rd from the right) for the day. George joined the team at Welcome Break Burtonwood in 1977, 3 years after it opened. He originally joined on a temporary basis whilst the hotel he worked at underwent refurbishment, but stayed 44 years until he retired 🥰
4. Welcome Break Burtonwood has been a rest stop for many celebrities over the years - can you spot any familiar faces?
5. Throughout the day we had multiple activities to raise funds for the Welcome Break Charitable Fund
6. No party is complete without cake! 🎂

Throwback Thursday! Yesterday we hosted our annual Summer Ball to support our Welcome Break Charitable fund – and in case you hadn’t guessed, this year’s theme was iconic 80s and 90s singers.

A big thank you to all our guests for supporting this event and to our business partners and suppliers for sponsoring tables and donating generously. Together, we raised over £100k, which will go towards more brilliant work with our charity partners Macmillan, National Emergencies Trust, and local community grants.
