Your dedication and passion are an inspiration to us all.
Congratulations to all the other finalists at the Housing Heroes Awards! We're honored to be among such an impressive group of nominees, all of whom are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others through their work in housing.

"A huge thank you to our amazing client who kindly donated this beautiful chest of drawers to charity yesterday! We knew exactly where it should go - Penalta Reuse Shop!
We adore Penalta for many reasons: Firstly, they take the time to lovingly collect and repurpose our clients' unwanted items. Secondly, they do a fantastic job of helping the community by making these items accessible to those who need them. And thirdly, they do an incredible job of keeping items out of landfill!
Check out the amazing job they've done on this chest of drawers - it's now transformed into a stunning piece of furniture! Thank you again to our generous client and to Penalta for all their hard work.

๐ฟโป๏ธ Today was a fantastic day in our support group! We took scrap fabrics that were headed for the landfill and turned them into gorgeous eco-friendly rugs. Not only are we reducing waste, but we're also raising funds for future activities and sessions. Our group is full of creativity and heart, and we can't wait to see what else we can accomplish together. ๐๐งต๐
We are very proud to be supporting Kino Bino film project "Of All The Things" bringing awarness around the stigma of hoarding.
We are supporting National Hoarding Awareness Week this year by hosting an event at Phoenix Cinema Leicester. One motivation behind our film 'Of All The Things' has been to tackle the stigma & increase understanding of Hoarding Disorder. We are excited to be joined by Clouds End CIC and Hoarding Disorders UK CIC at Phoenix on the 16th May to bring this event to the city.
We'll be hearing reflections on the last 10 years since started and looking forward to what's to come. We will also be joined by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service who will be sharing what support is available in Leicester as well as a researcher from De Montfort University Leicester (DMU). Plus Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland, APDO Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers, NHS and the British Psychological Society

To all the strong and resilient women we support, you are an inspiration and a force to be reckoned with.
We also want to recognize the amazing women we partner with, who share our vision and work tirelessly to make a difference.
Let's also give a special shout out to the women behind the scenes who support us and our families, making it possible for us to do our jobs and support our clients.
Today we celebrate Kevin, who not only runs our Thinking Space support group, but has set up a satellite group, Hapus, and helped countless people in doing so.
Kev, we are all so lucky to know you - happy birthday!! ๐ฉต๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
If anyone who accesses our group or follows our page would like any further information on this, please let us know. We're so pleased that research such as this is being looked at by Cardiff University and I know the lead researcher on this study would be so grateful to any participants who might wish to play a significant part in establishing and expanding the evidence base on hoarding.
We're absolutely thrilled to be sponsoring Blaenavon's RFC ๐๐ Being part of such a great club and supporting the local community means so much to us. Here's to a successful season ahead!
Great to see our under 15โs coat and sub coat sponsor, Kayley Hyman at our last home game. We presented her with a thank you team photo and also her daughter Summer with a players jersey.
Massive thank you again for your continued support Kayleigh and hope to see you both soon.

Those who live with Executive Functioning Disorder or ADHD may find it hard to stay on top of household chores. Developing a visual planner can be helpful in overcoming these obstacles. The chores associated with each area can be broken down more easily by creating a to-do list for each room.
We've seen some amazing results from adopting this strategy with our own clients.
Today we celebrate Amy on her recent orbit around the Sun. Our beautiful moon child, our warrior, our team mate & friend. How lucky we all are to know you. Happy birthday!!!! โฅ๏ธ๐ฉต๐๐๐๐

All welcome
Our incredible Penny sharing her story to help others.
Penny you have no idea what a brave and beautiful person you really are ๐๐๐
Penny Coles' daughter Ella was just three when she died eight years ago. A sign on her door still reads 'Keep out! Ella's room". Inside, there is a toy cooker, baby walker and all her other toys. It is the last vestige of the serious problem that was triggered in Penny after her daughter's death. Crippled by grief, the 49-year-old was unable to throw anything away. Her house became clogged with junk. "Mentally and physically I couldn't function," she says, "I was ready to give up." It was only a hoarding charity that helped her to address her problem, her grief and her depression. Today, she is on the mend but Ella's room is the one place she hasn't been able to touch http://tinyurl.com/4b6uskde
Our Service Manager Kayley Hyman speaking with BBC Wales Today about compassionate approaches for people who hoard and the power of cross-sector collaborations.
Thank you to BBC Wales for giving a platform for these stories to be told - hopefully the more we hear them, the sooner that eviction and enforced clearances being used as interventions for hoarding will be a thing of the past.
Jim, just quietly being a Christmas legend. ๐ฉต The kindness of the people we are working with is incredible.
Holistic Hoarding have never and will never endorse forced clearances. They cause significant distress and have an incredibly high relapse rate. Whether or not you hoard, having someone take your items away without full consent or autonomy is likely to cause very real trauma. We are so glad to support Cardiff University with their seminal study into this practice and the impact clearances can have.
If you're interested in being a key part of the research base into forced clearances, please contact us or Cardiff University directly on the details below.
We are so grateful to the people working with us for taking the time to provide such powerful feedback about our team members, and for continuing to trust us enough to open up your homes and lives to us. ๐ซ
Lovely feedback for after one of our Trauma-informed Approaches to Hoarding training sessions
Feedback like this makes us so happy! Not only is support rewarding for our caseworkers, but it also changes the lives of our clients and has a beneficial impact on their families and friends ๐ป๐ฟ

Our client, Gary, lives in the same house him and his parents moved into when Gary was 18 months old.
During his session, Gary came across old ration books from world war 2, and an old rent card.
Gary was supported to explore sentimental value and family history, and how this is interlaced with his hoarding behaviours.
Its normal for our clients to feel emotionally connected to items that remind them of beloved people or happier times.
Its the items that we can hold in our hands, like a childโs drawing or a crumpled concert ticket, which we hold most dear.
These items exert a powerful pull to the past, and to who we are. And in our increasingly dynamic, digital world, that becomes ever more important.
The value of the imperfect, serendipitous artefacts that tell the stories of our lives canโt be measured in money. Our stuff acquires a history just like we do.
Declutter, but donโt dehumanise. Treasure those treasured possessions. Enjoy them. Theyโre the artefacts of your history.
Its World Mental Health Day, this years theme is โOur Minds, Our Rightsโ, calling for recognition of mental health as a universal human right.
This theme is more important than ever.
Everyone should have the right to be mentally healthy, to have access to tools and support and to live in a world free from discrimination and stigma.
Today, and everyday, try to remember to make your mental health a priority.
Who hoards? ๐
The overall prevalence of hoarding disorder is estimated to be between 1.5% - 6% worldwide, with higher rates for people over 60 years old and people with other psychiatric diagnoses, especially anxiety and depression. The prevalence and features of hoarding appear to be similar across countries and cultures ๐
We need your help!
Quite often when we think of people that hoard that they have an abundance of everything.
However over time furniture is quite often broken and past repair so they are left with something not quite functional and with no suitable storage.
So we're reaching out to ask you lovely humans if anyone has any of the following furniture for a wonderful family that have fallen on hard times.
Anything would be appreciated if it's in good working order and we can pick it up in a van:
Bedside table
Under sink storage
Low level sideboard
Coffee table
Sideboard
Tall narrow drawers
Chest of drawers
Thankyou from the Holistic Hoarding Team

Hearing loss affects around 466 million people globally. One in five people in the UK is D/deaf. This week is all about highlighting their culture, accomplishments, and the value of inclusivity.
This year's theme is "Sign Language Rights for All!" Sign language is a wonderful, expressive, and necessary mode of communication for the deaf. It is their gateway to school, work, and full social involvement.
โ๏ธ Awareness: It's an opportunity to educate ourselves and others on the difficulties that the deaf community faces and how we can make the world more accessible to them.
โ๏ธCulture: Deaf culture is diverse and rich. This week allows us to recognise their distinct language, traditions, and accomplishments.
โ๏ธ Inclusion: We must strive for a world in which deaf people have equal opportunities and are fully involved in all aspects of life.
