Do you know what you were doing this time 10years ago?…..we do!

It’s been ten years since we made the change from our 9-5 existence & took the plunge into the deep cavernous pool of hospitality & self-employment. Those who have followed our journey will know we have never been shy of sharing the highs and the all too real lows. From swanky awards ceremonies through to restaurant closures, the ride has been undulating….so it is with mixed emotion that we share our latest news.

As of the 30th June we will be closing the doors on our little Nook in the beautiful suburb of Viccy Park for the final time. We have found ourselves at an impasse. Our current chef is moving on to pastures new and we have decided to take the opportunity to go out on a high💫

Love us or loathe us we hope that Nook will be remembered fondly and that your own personal Nook memories stay with you. But this is not a eulogy…..more a reincarnation, as we would never leave you high and dry…..we will be handing over the reigns (and the keys) to this perfect little restaurant to another. We are immensely excited to see what the new tenants of 587 Cowbridge Rd East will bring to the party but if Andy and Lewis from have demonstrated anything it’s their capacity to create a great environment celebrating produce and hospitality to the max. The fit seemed almost too good particularly as it was Andy that first took a punt on us allowing us to do a Dusty’s pop up 10 years ago at The Kings Arms in Pentyrch, and if it weren’t for people like Andy, we probably wouldn’t have ended up where we are. So it feels fitting that we can go some way to return the favour 10 years on. We strongly believe that Hiraeth and Nook share a similar ethos and will therefore be welcomed with open arms by the local community as we were ❤️

There is nothing left for us to say now other than thank you so so much for the past 5 years. We hope to see you over the next couple of weeks and obviously in one of our other ventures beyond this (oh and we will be doing Nook By The River again) 💃

Phill and I have always wanted to connect with our community and used our businesses as a way to do so. We wanted to share our experience as of late to highlight what might be happening across the city for others but who may not have the voice to do so.
