What is reflux and can the Qudo™ Soother help?
Reflux is when a baby brings up milk, or is sick, during or shortly after feeding. Other symptoms can include coughing or hiccuping and displaying discomfort, being unsettled during feeding, crying and not settling well.
The Qudo™ Soother has been designed specifically to reduce discomfort in young babies. It helps an infant as the sucking releases tension in the skull and supports the mobilisation of the soft tissue and bony structures.
It helps relieve tension, especially around the base of the skull, which is often one source of pressure against the Vagus Nerve, which affects and informs several systems in the human body, i.e. the Digestive Tract. January brings with it a cascade of New Year, New You but this can for many lead to a negative narrative. It's great to have goals (boy do I need them 🙃) however I have come to appreciate that these are little steps, not quick fixes and one plan wonders. Health and wellbeing isn't about rigid solutions that neither never start or get forgotten. Health is a long term game, yes we need to work at it with simple, tiny habits mixed in with joy, adventure and love.

That is what tonight is all about. It is about welcoming you to this special community and helping you feel positive in your pregnancy.
This hour is just for you to take some time for some self care and hang out with your bumps. It is going to be wonderful.
⚡ WHAT WILL I NEED?
To be sitting somewhere comfy. It would be great to start on the floor (!) or on a birth ball while we take some gentle stretches.
You then want to have a comfy bed or chair nearby to relocate to.
A pen and paper (all will become clear!)
Extra niceties .... a lovely drink (make it something good!), light a candle to make it smell lush, have some gentle music playing in the background (I recommend River Dawn by Catherine Marie Charlton). You might want to get yourself something delicious to nibble on (treat yourself!).
And then I will guide you in an hour of self care and calm.

Skilled breathing 100% helps in so many circumstances and definitely when it comes to labour but can also have a benefit to the newborn. 👉🏼
A systematic review of the effectiveness of skilled breathing and relaxation techniques during antenatal education on maternal and neonatal outcomes has shown that:
"Women who attended an antenatal education class with breathing and relaxation techniques appear to benefit from the intervention.
This applies to the practical implementation and use of breathing and relaxation techniques during labour, increased self-confidence and self-efficacy, and a increased feeling of being in control during labour.
This demonstrates the importance of information provision and a focus on breathing and relaxation techniques in antenatal education."
The study was conducted by Leutenegger et al (2022) and the results published in BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth.
