At the end of the Castle’s Conference’s first inaugural meeting, Barbara Spooner MBE of Digital Safety, expresses her delight at how well it went. The takeaway was exactly what she had hoped for, and the people that came collaborated and conversed to excellent results.

The enthusiasm and excitement in the room showed that people really care about the topic, and while the digital space, in terms of mental health, has not been fully explored yet, they look forward to going further with it.

Do you have any views on this topic you’d like to share? Then come along to the Castle Conference on 25th April 2024 at Leigh Court, and together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth.

Interesting Fact - What is World Thinking Day?

In 1926, delegates from guide and girl scout organisations across the world met in the USA for the 4th world conference. They decided to create a day for Guides and Girl Scouts to celebrate being part of an international movement.
Delegates chose to hold the first celebration on the joint birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the scout and guide movement, and his wife Olave, who served as World Chief Guide. And so, 'thinking day' was born.

World Thinking Day 2024, will embrace the theme of Our World, Our Thriving Future. The aim of this theme is to encourage women and girls to think about how they are affected by climate change, and about the actions they might take to make a difference in combatting the impact of it.

Year 6 had their session on Fake News, and how to identify it.

Today on Safer Internet Day and Lily would like to share a few words on what to do if you are being cyberbullied.
Cyberbullying is when someone uses technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. It happens on devices like smartphones, computers, tablets, and gaming systems.
Cyberbullying can have a huge impact on a young person, and it can affect them in different ways, including:
Mentally – feeling upset, embarrassed, stupid, even afraid or angry.
Emotionally – feeling ashamed or losing interest in the things they love/
Physically – tired (loss of sleep), or experiencing symptoms like stomach aches and headaches.
