Managing ME/CFS can be tough but I find these apps give a really helpful idea of energy levels 🧐⚡️
We had a brilliant Wirral Art & Wirral Open Studio Tour last weekend and are so thankful for everyone who visited ❤️ Though as you can see it's very much wiped out my energies! My body and mind are 0% battery today still, despite 4 full nights sleep and 16 hours/4 days of naps since the weekend!
It might take a few more weeks to feel well again, but excited to at least have the energy to share a little taste of the Open Studio with you today, and a glimpse of our collaborative artworks that all visitors were encouraged to controute to 🖌️🎨
I'll share more soon, and will get to picking winners for the visitor giveaway asap, but for now (even though l'd rather be doing other stuff) - more rest & sleep!
A little sneak peek of these two! Acrylic nearly finished and still have oil to go, but they’re getting there 😍 Really enjoying the birds in flight - there’s something energetic and magical about it!
Not long to go now! Final preparations underway and so excited to welcome you this weekend 🥰
Come learn about art and creativity, take part in a collaborative project, and get a first look at all my new work ❤️
Artist invites public to help in local-themed canvases at Wirral Open Studio Tour The Wirral Open Studio Tour is back in June, and one of the artists involved is asking visitors to make their mark on two pieces of art.
Just released some beautiful work from the past few months! These are all studies so are a relatively low cost way to collect original art (these range from £20-£180) 🙂
They’ll all be on display and available to visitors at next weekend’s Open Studio, so if you have your eye on anything claim it now before it goes! ❤️

Didn’t feel like painting today, but here anyway and going to give it a go. Thankful I have the privilege to be able to choose! Happy with how this one’s moving along and looking forward to adding some detail in. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend 🩷💛🩵
Starting new work! I’ve had this canvas for over 2 years and knew exactly what I wanted it to become, but just had to wait for the energy to paint it. So exciting to finally be able to begin. Huge amount of prep going in for the Wirral Open Studio Tour in a couple of weeks, and plenty of pieces very nearly ready to hit the market 😍 If you’re on my email list you’ll get first dibs!
It’s been SO long since I’ve been able to work on this pair. Finally back with them today 😊❤️
Nearly finished on this piece. This started out with some texture, acrylic washes and spray paint. Acrylic layer all done now and just a little oil to go 🙂 Have loved working on these bright beautiful paintings, especially as it’s been such a bright beautiful weekend! 🥰☀️🌷
Really enjoyed these pieces today 😍🥰👌 Lots of colour, warmth and fun, and they’ve come on leaps and bounds since this morning. Little way to go yet but very excited to see these finished ❤️🌸🌺☀️🐝
I’m not sure she’s quite finished yet, but after a lot of layers today (and over 25 different brushes used) I think we’re getting somewhere close! 🤔🙂
And this fella finished too! Loads of fun mark making and colour to start before the background acrylics were dimmed down and the final oil painting done today.
She’s finished! This started using beautifully drippy inks, followed by acrylic, and finally just a touch of oil. Finishing in oil really helps to add that final magic ✨ and I’m really pleased with how she’s turned out! Bit of an experiment but I think I’ve found some techniques I’d like to take forward 😊
Loved experimenting with ink and loose washes today 😍 adding a couple more layers and excited to see how she ends up!
The colour mixing palette, the ridiculous amount of brushes used and the final self portrait! So glad I gave this another pass 😊 fixed a few proportions and adjusted the colours. Experimented with a few vibrant brush strokes and pretty happy with the result! More like me 🥰❤️
Self portrait from photo as one of the final assignments of the oil section of my course. This started as a radiant layer followed by a darker ground layer and subtraction. Added an opaque layer this afternoon and it’s getting there… maybe the left/my right eye and the nose are just a bit off? And maybe lighter eyebrows near the centre? What do you think? 👁️👃👁️🔎
Something to look forward to! I am studio number 1 - come visit me 7-9th June 🖌️🎨❤️
Didn’t enjoy much of what I’ve painted today! You know when you try but it just doesn’t seem to take shape? Wasn’t holding out much hope for this final limited palatte alla prima study, but had a surprise breakthrough with it! It doesn’t have to be perfect or the best work ever, there’s just a moment that arrives where things feel right and purposed and positive. She’s messy and imperfect, but something powerful happened in the process ❤️💪✨ Here’s to learning and taking that magic forwards!
Turns out dogs aren’t welcome in the building. Anyway, here’s my new studio rug 👀👀 Very pink, very flat, very good, very well behaved 👌 Weirdly seems to follow me around at times but I’m sure it’s just a trick of the imagination!
Some work in progress 🐴❤️ These are small-mid size oil paintings. First couple of layers done on each, and next will come some opaques and darks. Hopefully finished in a week or two - join my mailing list for first dibs!
As requested, we have prints! Spirit, Serenity and Sovereign 🐴🐴🐴 are waiting to meet you 🩵
You can get an A5 print just for the cost of P&P, or upgrade to larger prints or the whole set with really big discounts 🥰
I'm adding the originals and prints to my main website this week too, but they'll be full price there, so if you want the special offer you can find it at 👉

Loved creating a few of these charcoal horse drawings. Think I’m going to get some prints done, but can’t decide whether to add a little colour splash to them? What do you think?
Finished this good boy today 🥰❤️ Adapted from a pinterest photo, he’s meant to symbolise love - and if your heart has ever been captured by a doggo you’ll know it feels like the truest love ever! Nothing quite says loyalty, unconditional acceptance, trust, safety and fierce friendship like the goodest of girls and boys 🐶
Happy Monday all! Feeling grateful for sunshine, longer days, milder weather, hope, and all the potential of a new week ❤️☀️😊
Started work on these two again today! They’ve been resting whilst I’ve been busy with other pieces and that made a nice space to help me see what comes next. Some additions to make over the weekend and then hopefully finally finished! 😍🥰🖌️
And today’s effort! This is the same technique and is called fat over lean. The oil layers build up from thin to thick, and the very first layer was a graphite and charcoal sketch. It’s meant to allow a little bit of each of the layers to show through, and I like it! Might be one or two tiny adjustments to make, but still happy with my first ever horse painting! More to come I’m sure 🙂🐴
Tried a new oil painting technique today. There were moments early on when it felt like it’s never come together, but eventually it did. One or two things to adjust but overall pleased with the result!
This was a fun drawing to work on today 🙂 Practicing expressive gesture drawing and used The Winged Victory of Samothrace statue as a source. Couldn’t resist a little colour in with the graphite and charcoal, and for my first time drawing a statue, am happy with the result! Think it looks ok?
Wasn’t intending for this piece to go like this at all! But sometimes ideas just have a way of getting onto the canvas… maybe this is just the direction this work was meant to take!
More layers to do, but this was enough for one day 🙂
