The Foxlie Plan
Psycho-physical therapist focused on nervous system and hormone health. HTR: Hormone Tension Release
I got this tattoo in Thailand - I was fortunate enough to spend time with the marvelous Big John John Gardner - he found the tattoo artist - one of the best on the island and asked - are you sure you want to do this? You don’t need a tattoo on your belly - it’s just fine as it is.
I was adamant - I got it - he actually rubbed oil on it and took photos and said - it’s healing Ali - it’s healing - it’s going to look great!
The last couple of weeks I suddenly had an urge to change the tattoo - was thinking black and no my stomach only looks like that when lying down otherwise it’s very wrinkly. But I am not going to change it because I remember big John had 2 scorpions on his hands - one on each side.
“You can’t change the past Ali - yes I’ve at times wanted to get rid of them and yes maybe initially it might put people off - but I did it - it’s part of me - my history. You have to learn acceptance”.
I miss you Big John # # #

Had some lovely feedback on "the Brain & Body podcast" from a leading trauma psychotherapist with 38 years PQE who leads training programmes on trauma for junior psychotherapists:
"I am impressed by what you have achieved and created. Your book sounds fascinating – a great development of TRE, and listening to your podcasts, your depth of holistic understanding around brain and body is refreshingly and informatively offered in a lively, engaging and digestible form."
I had a good chat with Mark Walsh on the Embodiment podcast recently.

The Embodiment Podcast: Trauma & Hormones - With Allegra Foxlie on Apple Podcasts Show The Embodiment Podcast, Ep Trauma & Hormones - With Allegra Foxlie - 15 Feb 2024
I know what it's like to lose everything. I know how difficult it is to begin a new life and to recover.
I've just signed up to walk 58 miles in Feb to help bring awareness to domestic abuse.
is organising it.
Domestic abuse can be physical, emotional, and/or financial. Often, women are forced to flea their homes, with nothing, absolutely petrified about what the future holds for them.
Sadly, often, the person they are trying to escape (who now has all of the victims' belongings) will then begin a toxic smear campaign claiming the woman/victim is mentally ill.
Emotional abuse, in the long term, can damage a woman's body, leading to autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, Major Depressive Disorder, Major Panic Disorder, PMDD, worse perimenopause and menopause symptoms, ovarian cancer and much more.

Access to therapeutic healing can be really difficult when you are living on the breadline - it's a massive barrier to healing.
Many people who are struggling to cope with challenging/traumatic histories can find themselves reliant on the UK state benefits.
With this in mind, I want to reduce this barrier to healing, so I have decided to offer the trauma bodywork programme at a massively discounted price for those on Universal Credit, PIP, or Job seekers allowance.
You will need to provide evidence that you are in receipt of any of the above benefits, but it feels like the right thing to do.
The link to this package is in the comments.
I would appreciate it if you could share this post with anyone you know who you feel would benefit from this.
Received a lovely review from Dr Rachel Gow - thank you!
In it, she quite rightfully points out that my book is so much more than just menopause. It's a book about female health and how trauma and stress disrupt the body, causing illness.
As a result of prolonged, accumulative, inescapable abuse, my mind was stuck, and my body seemed broken. The ramifications on my body were significant and having been to the Dr's on multiple occasions with no deep change - I felt it was my responsibility to delve deep into the world of trauma, emotional abuse and stress to get answers.
Part 2 of my book offers a cutting-edge solution to regulate tour hormones and feel better.

Buy the book for all of your female friends for Christmas.
If you abuse a pregnant woman, you are abusing the growing fetus in her belly.
Emotional abuse is abuse.
You are neurally violating the unborn baby's nervous system, affecting the baby's epigenetics, sensitivity to hormones and neurotransmitters - which can have all sorts of long lasting ramifications for their emotional and physical health once born and inadulthood.
I am absolutely adamant that anyone who abuses a pregnant woman should be jailed.
I was the victim of familial and domestic abuse whilst pregnant and nursing my newborn baby. Shortly afterwards, I was diagnosed with PTSD and CPTSD, which had ramifications on my epigenetic sensitivity to hormone fluctuations and my resilience to stress.
It's what spurred me on to write my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release, to raise awareness and to help women get the help they need. I want to help women recover from abuse.
HTR delves into how adverse childhood experiences, trauma, prolonged stress, and abuse can disrupt the body, leading to all sorts of conditions, including asthma, fibromyalgia, PME, PMDD, worse perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
As a side note, if your nervous system was compromised in the womb due to your mother being abused, I believe you should have the right to sue the perpetrator / perpetrators for the epigenetic changes that have taken place to you, regardless of whether the perpetrators are your father, aunty or grandfather.
What are your thoughts?
The link to my book is in the captions.
If you are suffering from trauma or prolonged accumulative stress, then it's vital that you get treated by professionals who have "trauma-informed" qualifications. Ask to see their certificates if you are not sure.
This has ramifications on your body: menstrual cycle, hormones, sleep, immune system, tension, pain, inflammation, sensitivity, weight - everything!
It significantly impacted me and is why I am passionate about helping women recover and thrive.
I write about how to feel better using specialist psycho-physical practices in my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release, which is out now:

This is a client testimonial from Rachel - a client I have been teaching these last 6 months.
Rachel came to me because her PMDD was disabling. For 10 days a month, she was struggling with depression, insomnia, bloating etc. Her bleed was incredibly heavy and painful. As with many of my clients, Rachel has a history of adverse childhood experiences created by an emotionally unregulated and unavailable parent.
I taught her the techniques from my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1739275608/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Rachel now has her life back and has been given a promotion at work to her dream job.
You don't have to suffer.
If you are from a loving family, you are lucky.
Please stop telling victims of interfamily trauma - "but she is your mum/dad," or "blood is thicker than water"
Families can be vicious, and some will go out of their way to cause harm to the blacksheep, spreading false information, acting like a tag team in the hope the blacksheep will kill themselves.
You have no idea what has happened. So if someone says they no longer speak to their family , trust them - they may have been pushed to the absolute brink of hell.
I am looking forward to this instagram live with DR Rachel Gow on Thursday.
Trauma dysregulates our nervous system and causes havoc on our hormones, emotions, and health.
It has been linked to a multitude of autoimmune disorders as well as fibromyalgia.
These symptoms can become more severe during perimenopause and menopause, leading to debilitating symptoms.
Therapy has the power to heal the body, reducing symptoms of these disorders and, in some instances, healing them.
I talk about how trauma disrupts the body in my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1739275608/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Complext trauma - cptsd - sometimes calld DESNOS can impact every single cell in your body, causing illness.
It disrupts our hormones, nervous system, metabolic behaviour - pretty much everything.
If you are suffering from this, get in touch. The specialist psycho-physical bodywork practices I teach can have a hugely positive effect at reversing this disruption, bringing you back to balance.
Importantly, people with cptsd may still have to have contact with their abusers - who are often family members or ex partners they have children with. So as well as doing the bodywork practices, I advise that if you know they will never change and will continue to harm you, then try and cut these people out of your life - block them and use go-between apps.
I write extensively about this in my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release, which is in Kindle, print, and Audible formats.

Just received another lovely review of my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1739275608/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=
This book is for anyone who has experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences, trauma, prolonged accumulative stress, emotional abuse, toxic relationships, addiction, eating disorders, etc. who now feel like a prisoner in their body due to adverse hormone symptoms.
This book uses a blend of specialist psycho-physical techniques from the trauma therapy world to help you feel better.
I write about fibromyalgia in my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release.
It's linked to adverse childhood experiences and trauma. Clients I've taught who have this diagnosis have all reported less pain, with flareups seeming significantly less.
Women with fibromyalgia are more likely to experience worse symptoms during perimenopause and menopause.

Just received another review from a lady who has read my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release.
It's interesting, isn't it - how trauma shapes our personality, behaviours, and perceptions.
This lady was able to see that her mother's behaviour actually stemmed from trauma, making her realise that her mum was struggling and is only human.
I wrote this book to help all women process and recover from trauma. Education is key.
Who else has read the book?

The Audible version of my book HTR: Hormone Tension Release is finally available!
Whoop whoop whoop!
This has been a massive project. I wanted it on audio because we are often far too busy to read books nowadays.
This book is for anyone born gender female who is struggling with unresolved trauma, stress, hormones, premenstrual tension, period pain, sleep, restless legs syndrome, energy, hot flushes and much more.
Feel better with simple but powerfulpsycho-physical bodywork practices.
I would be grateful if you would share this link with all of your friends.

I've mentioned before that grief can be classified as shock trauma. It can dysreultae the nervous system, hormones, and emotions.
I've known people to blame their symptoms on perimenopause and menopause when the real culprit is groef, complex trauma etc.

It's mental health awareness month.
Think of the body as a massive Internet with IoT (Internet of Things). Signals are carried along the nervous system to the hypothalamus, the command centre of our endocrine system, which controls an array of devices (the adrenals, thyroid, pituitary, ovaries, te**es etc.) ... the device does whatever work it's told to... but if the signals don't arrive, or arrive corrupted, your harmonious system can fail in surprising, hard to diagnose ways significantly affecting mental health, causing depression, anxiety, panic, disconnection, fatigue and so much more...
The nervous system is the foundation of our emotional happiness - so we need to exercise it. The neurogenic tremors in my HTR: Hormone Tension Release system, reboot the nervous system so that the right messages are sent to the endocrine glands regulating your hormone production.
The body in many cases has the power to heal the mind. Take care of it.
