Meet Valentine....the biggest breed of dog for Step Ahead to date!🐾 This gorgeous boy is 2 years old and unfortunately suffered a spinal stroke, causing him to lose the function of his hindlimbs. Along with his dedication owners, we have created a physiotherapy programme to help improve limb function. Hydrotherapy is soon to be added too🥰🐾🐾

Ensuring time for rest in your animal's management routine allows for both mental and physical recovery, which helps to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Rest also allows the brains emotional cup to empty, promoting a more balanced and stress free mindset. For animal's suffering from injury or painful conditions, rest allows for tissues to mend and speeds the recovery process.
Therefore rest results in better performance and behaviour 🐴🐾

Obi is a working dog who helps herd sheep and cattle on a family farm🐑🐄. During work he strained a hindlimb muscle causing pain to his hip, resulting in intermittent lameness and disruption to his work.
After an initial assessment I was able to assess the severity of injury and provide a physiotherapy programme to help Obi's recovery. I look forward to reviewing his progress at his next session🐾🥰

Registration with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) has been renewed for the upcoming year! This means that appropriate professional development has been obtained alongside holding correct insurance as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. This also means that sessions are often covered on pet insurance policies🐶🐴
