We're closed now for Christmas, we'll be back serving tasty beverages on Wednesday the 28th.
The downstairs team will be open as normal tonight, and they'll be back at 5pm on Boxing day too

Sorry that we didn't open up last night, sadly we had some behind the scenes issues.

Tonight though, may be one of the last chances to see some of our favourite drinks from the menu. As the new drinks list went to print yesterday!

The Caretaker would just want to say a massive thank you to all the guys and galls that came to our Henstone Distillery event last week! Well done to Rhodri Hales for supplying the winning cocktail, the hilariously titled: Lord Knobketh of Apricot Hall. Utilising Henstone Navy Gin, Cocchi Rosa vermouth, and a homemade Apricot Coulis; all accompanied by a homemade Ice-cream and a rather polished performance, fit for any stage!
Well Done Rhodri, and a huge thankyou to Henry for bringing your spirits to our little speakeasy!

Just a little update after our post earlier this week regarding being closed this Friday and Saturday.

*We are only closed because too many of the team have been told to isolate.* Some have received a notification via the NHS app and others live with someone who, unfortunately, has tested positive.

As of the start of last week, due to the high and rising numbers in the city, our team take a COVID test prior to each shift and can only enter the building following a confirmed negative result.

Following the turbulent and challenging last 15 months, opting to close on days when we could be open is far from ideal. However, two things. Firstly, we have a duty of care, both to our team and to our guests. We would never knowingly make a decision that didn’t put people front and centre - we closed before instructed to at the start and we waited over a month to reopen last summer. Safety first. Always.

Secondly, and as importantly from our point of view, we aren’t prepared to offer a sub standard guest experience. We enjoy what we do and we like to think you do to. As it stands, because of enforced isolation, we simply do not have a big enough team to operate Liquor and Co to the standard you have come to expect. All or nothing.

The good news is that, barring any further sucker punches from the NHS App, we will be back open on Sunday this weekend. Just in time for an end of week catch up.

All’s not lost though, the gang over the road in Craft are still going strong, taking bookings and walk-ins all weekend. Every cloud and all that.
