It was great to be out on the doorstep last weekend with Andrew Cooper for Mid Cheshire talking to Winsford residents 📢

Andrew took the time to listen to their concerns and ideas, and I believe he will give Winsford the attention it deserves after years of distant Tory MPs who haven’t put our town first 🌈

Andrew will be a great MP for Winsford and Mid Cheshire 🗳️

The Winsford Academy was recently closed to children in Year 8 and Year 9 and it's understandable that parents have concerns. They are asking for a meeting with The Winsford Academy.

I'm 100% behind them, and earlier today I sent this letter to the CEO of The Fallibroome Trust and Acting Principal of The Winsford Academy in support of the parents of Winsford children.

I hope that the meeting is arranged as a priority.

Cheshire West and councils of all political stripes provide the things that communities rely on, but are under more pressure than ever.

The autumn statement last week brought no relief - Tory austerity continues and Council Tax cannot bridge it alone.

Well said - the Government must do more to help unpaid carers.

There needs to be more Government support for carers in returning to work which will not only help the unpaid carer but boost the UK economy. Unpaid carers want to be in work but a huge amount at 41% had to give up paid work due to their caring role.

Congratulations Andrew Cooper for Mid Cheshire 👏

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that I've selected as Labour's candidate for Mid Cheshire. The people of our three great salt towns deserve better than this government. I can't wait to meet as many people as possible over the next year and hear their aspirations for our communities.

Thank you so much to Labour Party members that have placed their trust in me. I will work each and every day to demonstrate to the people of Mid Cheshire the difference a Labour Government can make.

Over the weekend I attended Winsford's Remembrance Sunday service to remember those who have served, those who have fallen and their families.

Cllr Simon Boone and his page the Winsford Residents Association are stating that I have been disrespectful by wearing a civic medal during the service. I appreciate Cllr Luke Daniels' efforts to clear up their lies about the cost of the civic medals, and I'd like to clear up their lies about my apparent disrespect.

I am proud that members of my family have served and that my family name appears on war memorials in Winsford. My wider family includes recipients of the Victoria Cross, I was brought up to respect all veterans and their service, and I know stories of their sacrifice and loss.

Remembrance Sunday is a civic event, and councillors often wear medals recognising civic service to such events. I wore my Past Mayor medal as I have in previous years, and several other councillors wore medals that they were awarded by different local councils.

The Past Mayor and Past Consort medals go back a long time in Winsford, given by a new Mayor to a former Mayor or Consort to thank them for their service. I wear mine at every civic event that I represent our town at, out of respect for my hometown of Winsford.

The only people disrespecting veterans and their families are Cllr Simon Boone and the Winsford Residents Association.

12/11/2023

Today and throughout the year, we will remember those who served.

11/11/2023

Today we honour those that went before us. Across our borough and county there is not a town or village without a memorial bearing the names of the lost sons and daughters who did their bit in service to our country and the freedoms we hold dear. Truly, lest we forget.

There's been a lot of talk about reopening the closed toilets near the Post Office in Winsford Town Centre lately. These are the same toilets that Winsford Salt of the Earth promised to reopen.

The only thing stopping Winsford Salt of the Earth from delivering on their promises is Winsford Salt of the Earth - they won 14/15 Winsford Town Council seats back in May and still hold 11/15 of them today.

Despite the chaos at Winsford Town Council with Winsford Salt of the Earth, Cheshire West & Chester Council are busy delivering their £22m regeneration of Winsford Town Centre. There is lots to look forward to including additional toilets for public use, as well as those already available today in Winsford Lifestyle Centre, Winsford Library, Wyvern House and various businesses. As somebody who calls Winsford home and as the Cheshire West Cabinet Member for Regeneration, I'm committed to delivering on Labour's promises to Winsford and the borough.

Winsford Salt of the Earth councillors are suggesting I've refused to meet with Cllr Ernie Welch to discuss additional toilets. This is not true - I've said I will meet him and his councillors if they can make their minds up about how they will fund their promises. I have refused a separate 1:1 meeting with Cllr Welch as I will not meet any councillor informally if they ignore reports of violence by candidates they promote.

Winsford Salt of the Earth are in charge of Winsford Town Council and it's up to them to deliver on their promises 🤥
