Our first week at our new pitch and we got to help Amazon depot deeside celebrate their first birthday! Happy birthday everyone! 🥳 🎂 🎉 Come and say Hello next time you are passing Tuesday-Friday 8-12.30 9-12.30 Saturdays.

Retain Wellbeing CIC is a local, community company who use the profits they make to help people living with dementia. They own and operate GIFT Vantastic. This opportunity and pitch offer us the chance to provide great hot and cold food and drink to the hard working teams in Amazon which in turn will help us to help more families.
There is room for progression with this role and increases in pay and/or more hours as responsibility increases. There will be a small team working the van when we are fully up and running and they will need a leader.
The successful candidate will be serving the workforce at the Amazon depot, drivers and passing public. Initially the van will be trading 8am-12 noon Tuesday-Saturday but we envisage this will increase over the next few months.

An hours prep in advance of opening and a clean down period after closing will make this a 6 hour shift per day, 30 per week.

Those applicants aged over 25, who have lived in the UK for 3 years or more, who have a driving licence and at least one years driving experience are preferred, however, character, skill and experience are more important.

The following is a list of tasks required of the successful candidate on a daily basis:
*Open the van and stock display items
*Complete scheduled cleaning tasks
*Prepare and store the food ready for opening
*Cook simple items such as bacon, sausage, burgers etc
*Prepare sandwiches
*Make note of all stock items running low
*Accept and store deliveries appropriately
*Serve customers in a speedy and efficient manner and talk to them
*Handle cash and use credit card machine
*Follow all food hygiene regulations by following the Safer Food Better Business guide and completing the daily tasks.
*Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance and behaviour.
*Complete all training required to operate in a safe and healthy manner to increase and maintain skills.
*Clean down at the end of serving.
*Cash up at the end of shift and store funds securely.
*Ensure the security of the van and contents on leaving
*Where possible, drive the van to collect stock items, refuel etc.
*Any other duties consummate with the role of Catering Van Assistant.

GIFT Café and GIFT Vantastic operate on a not-for-profit basis to financially support the aims and objectives of Retain Wellbeing CIC. GIFT stands for Getting Involved, Finding Talent and the company aims are to support those in the community who may be socially isolated and who may be affected by Dementia because they live with it or care for someone who does.
We need a Supervisor who will operate our rural community café and our hot food van. This will involve hands on operation of both locations, the supervision of the small staff team and all activities related to running a well organised, customer focussed business. In exchange there will be a regular salary and the ability to obtain significant bonuses dependent on the success of the businesses. You will be given help, support and advice on all aspects of the role.
Must hold a level 3 Food safety certificate or have experience and be willing to complete the qualification. Please note, there are no public transport links to our cafe. Ideally this person will be aged 25, have been driving for at least two years and have been a UK resident for 3 years but this is not essential.
Duties will include:
· Being responsible for the day to day operation of the businesses including food and barista prep, limited amount of baking, making fresh food to order to serve and for take away.
· Participating in staff recruitment, development and performance
· Ensuring our businesses are seen positively on as many aspects of social media as possible.
· Building relationships with our visitors and encouraging additional activities at the café to fulfil our company commitment of supporting our communities.
· To be responsible for hygiene standards and all aspects of the Government Safer Food Better Business standards.
· Producing menus to reflect the taste of our customers which are competitively priced.
· Driving and attending events with GIFT Vantastic and ensuring adequate staffing for all operating hours for both the Van and the Cafe.
· Being willing to understand what being affected by Dementia and Isolation may mean to someone and putting that knowledge into practice.
· Ordering and stock control.
· Being open to ideas such as holding an alcohol license.
· Other tasks consummate with the role.
