Brushes & Beyond Art Group asks the question ‘Why Art ?

Art engages the mind, body, and spirit in ways that are different from any form of verbal communication, art helps reduce stress, anxiety and increases positive emotions. You can use art as a tool to express your feelings and is the most effective means of communication.

You can create a piece of work that is unique to you. The class is non-judgemental, and will also give you a sense of achievement which in turn will make you feel good, therefore will help boost your confidence. Taking part in an art group will help you and give you an holistic approach to your wellbeing.
Whether you are an artist or have never taken up art in your life, it’s never too late to start.
Dates: 18th July 2024 7pm-8pm. £15.00pp
24th July 2024 2pm-3pm £15.00pp
31st July 2024. 10am-1pm £45.00pp

Your Quiet Place is looking forward to doing a course called Self-Love and Healing. I will be doing the course on-line in groups of four, face to face for those who don’t feel comfortable doing online. It will be over 5 weeks, 2hrs per week, and will teach you how to tap into your inner child, how we can heal from personal trauma and arrive at the deep understanding of self love, self care, and to get an understanding of how Self-love is at the core of the relationship into healing. Throughout the course you will undertake to writing a study journal which will help you keep track of your self care, plus some exercises to undertake at home. If you are interested please pm me for further details.

Wednesday is already here. Middle of the week. Maybe it’s time for some self care, We speak about empowerment but we can’t be empowered if we are not emotionally strong ourselves. Turn that music up and dance like no-one is watching, and even if they are, who cares. Take a walk in the wind, blow those cobwebs away. lol at the amazing colours of nature that turns our world into a free art canvas. Embrace everything we have that’s free, empower your world to enable us to empower others.

Good Morning Monday, I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. This week let’s talk about control and change. We all try to control situations that we are not happy with, it makes us feel that we are at least trying to make good of a situation that may not be right for us, it doesn’t work. Mindset is the answer, we can’t control, because the situation either carries on, or just gets worse. What we can do is change our mindset. We can start to think about positive change, what can we do to let the situation go. What is it doing to us, emotionally, mentally, physically. Ask yourself if you like the way you are feeling in the moment. Let’s start with our first mindset today.
Understand your power of choice. Take a small step today. Today make a small choice that’s right for you. It will be the start of your empowerment.

A Mandala workshop will bring out your unique creativity, it will also help you find ways to explore and enjoy your own peace. Sign up now for our Mandala workshops. No previous experience required. During the session we will:�learn about the history behind the Mandala, explore the peace and calm that we experience through the colours. The Ancient Sanskrit language of Hinduism and Buddhism, mandala means “circle.”
We will explore the way in which Mandala’s are used in meditation and the meaning of the colours used.
Throughout the three workshops you will learn and practice using Mandala grids, choose your own personal colours. There will also be time when you become confident in your design to create cards, or maybe just one piece of Mandala art. �There will be introductions to the designs and tools used in Mandala art.
No experience required, select the colours that have meaning for you.�Dates and times are as follows:
17th February-2023 -11am-1pm
24th February-2023 11am-1pm
2nd March-2023 11am-1pm
Or a full course 9th March-10am-4pm

Price £25.00 per person, per session Deposit of £15.00 required to hold sessions attended. All equipment is provided plus light refreshments.
For the 6hr session on the 9th March the cost will £65.00 offering a £10.00 discount and will need to be paid in full. If lunch is required for the 6hrs session please bring a packed lunch, tea and coffee with biscuits will be provided.

Good morning Tuesday, WOW! I came across this quote and it’s just beautiful. Have you looked back on life and what you have given to others. Try and see all the things that you have done, even down to the smile at someone you don’t know. Look at the pathway of shining lights you have trailing behind you. This quote says” you’re so much more than you think you are” “you have done so much more than you think you have” you are creating a trail of bright lights that you don’t even know about.

Good morning everyone, sorry I’m late with my post, anyway let’s start.
Sometimes we have to be strong enough to accept change, look at the caterpillar. The caterpillar had to go through a transformation which then enabled the beauty inside to shine through. We are all capable of being beautiful, let’s start our weekend by shrugging off the old, and bringing on the new.

I offer one to one social, emotional, light housework and companionship in your home.
No personal care.
I will provide basic housekeeping, accompany you to social activities and social events, I am able to prepare meals, help with shopping and attend appointments. I will help make a difference even if it’s just for a coffee & a chat. I have over 20 years experience working with the Elderly and those living with dementia and mental health.
I am fully DBS checked for working with Vulnerable Adults, I have NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care., Public Liberty Insurance, Level 2 Food & Hygiene.
Full clean driving licence and use of my own car. I am based in Selsey, will travel to Worthing and surrounding areas. It will be 1hr minimum per visit with rate of pay at £20 per hour to be paid on the day. Overnight visits can be arranged.
Petrol will be charged at 45p per mile.

I have been unable to post for a while as I have been recovering from an M/E crash, as I recover( yet once again ) there have been people who I have spoken online with, those whom I have only briefly met through social media, those I have spoken with face to face, and some whom have just recognised my name, but made the effort to thank me.
I am appreciative of the simple way that interaction online can progress into something more meaningful for others, how much love and kindness has been given to me for the posts I place on FB. I hope to be back starting tomorrow, and will be giving words of hope, kindness, gratitude to everyone. I want to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stayed with me through this and keep watching because Your Quiet Place has some wonderful new journeys coming ahead.
Thank you to my friends, family, and those beautiful people whom I don’t know but have been in touch with their kindness.

I want to thank you for the wonderful feedback on our Meditation Circle that was held in our open air meditation garden Your Quiet Place. I’m so pleased that it was a positive time with the discussion group leading into the card readings and then the Colour Meditation. Beautiful new area for Your Quiet Place, an open air area for yoga or meditation. Not quite finished but was able to use yesterday. A natural environment with Astro turf, birdsong, fresh air and the robin which decided to visit us during the course of the day.
